Rick Stetler first appeared in CSI Miami in the episode 'Blood Brothers' (first air date 22 September 2003).
IAB Agent Rick Stetler has quickly become Horatio's nemesis, trying to discredit the CSI and his team at every opportunity. We discover in 4.10 'Shattered' that the reason that Stetler hates Horatio so much is that they were both up for promotion to Lieutenant, but Rick lost out, remaining a Sergeant while Horatio was made Lieutenant and also went on to become the Head of the Crime Lab. Rick reveals that the only way he can get to be a Lieutenant now is by working up through IAB, and everyone hates IAB right?! Hmm I wonder why?
Rick is jealous that Yelina, the woman he was dating, still has strong feelings for Horatio. His relationship with Yelina was short-lived. The feisty cop showed him the door after he tried to use her as a puching bag, and with Horatio instantly at Yelina's side to back her up, the weasly Agent turned tail and skulked away.
His mission to destroy Horatio's career continues. With Stetler's investigations probing into Horatio's clouded past back in New York...who knows what he'll find!
