Hyndburn Comets

We are the Hyndburn Comets Majorette Troupe!

We have sections of Babies, Dinkies, Tinies, Juniors and Seniors to make up the HYNDBURN COMETS.

In the winter months, November until Easter, the girls in each troupe with the help from the trainers create routines. each troupe section has a time limit for each dance. ie seniors 18 minutes in total, juniors 15 minutes, tinies 12 minutes and dinkies 10 minutes. When this is complete, the girls then get down with business of very hard training sessions to learn baton work, twirling, throwing, timing, dance, rhythm, marching, footwork, arm-work, deportment and working as a team.

When the summer season starts around easter the girls are out every week-end and also bank holidays attending venues that have been booked. We can and do travel within 100 miles radius of our town which can make the day a 12 hour event.

We entertain the public at a variety of events, eg, with the association usually carnivals and competition or just displays, for the senior citizens homes, schools, boys clubs, scouts, ladies clubs etc mostly the mayor or mayoress of our town and other towns have asked us to attend their fund rasing days. our charity work includes rotaract, Macmillan Nurses, Children in Need, The Blind and Cancer Research. we attend functions for the Round Table of the Lions, again doing displays and carnivals to help raise them funds for their charities, also  the R.A.F at their functions.
