Claymore Class 85 - The Background Story ...

Two years ago, a disastrous incident for the organization occured where their #4, a claymore that could control other claymores' yoki, caused numbers #1-#7 to awaken, and then awakened herself. These awakened beings, all from Class 83, gathered and attacked the organization, destroying Class 84 before it could be completed.

The organization, cunning as usual, was able to build Class 85 nevertheless, but only managed to create 34 warriors rather than the usual 47. All the warriors are specifically chosen, and so all can be comparably better than #20 of Class 78. These elite warriors are now assigned to the mission of exterminating these awakened beings, the last of their kind.

You can be either a claymore under rank #2 or one of the awakened beings under #4.

RP Guides by Vermillius

RP Guide 1

"I'm not sure how many of you have done RPs before, but there are some basic things to consider while making a character and doing an RP.

The first is that you should not make your characters overpowered. Yes, we all admired Teresa and Priscilla, but it's boring to make characters with Godlike abilities. You're character is not going to come out of every situation unharmed. It's ok though, because it's fun to struggle to win a battle. Also, when your character gets hurt on a limb, remember that will affect how they can fight. If you make characters with unbalanced abilities don't be surprised if powerful opponent's are completely immune to them.

Also, since this RP is based on the Claymore manga, it's important to follow the manga as best you can. I think this is something important that people need to consider.

In the Claymore Manga, there were no Claymores who could fly or shoot energy, or use genjutsu, etc. In fact, not even all of the Awakened beings could fly, so it doesn't make sense to have a flying Claymore. If you want to have your Claymore to be able to jump extremely high, that's ok, but flying is too powerful. Certain special abilities have to be balanced. Laura and Lloyd immediately come to mind."

RP Guide 2

"Not trying to be a killjoy but things work better the more faithful to the manga they are. These character are good in concept, but don't follow the continuity of the series.

Think of your characters in reference to the manga. In a battle scenario you have to announce whether or not you are releasing 10% 30% 50% or 70% of your power. Some abilities, like Yoki detection and manipulation, are inherent, and do not require the release of yoma energy. However, the more powerful the ability, the more energy should be required to release. If you want a powerful attack like Jean's Rotational Ability of Ray's Ground Strike, it should require a release of 50% of your Yoki.

There should be a few differences between male and female Claymores. If you create a Male Claymore your character will have a higher base strength, but a limitation on how much Yoki you can release in a battle. For example, while a female risks going over the limit at 75% a male should risk going over the limit at 50%. This means Males have stronger basic attacks, but cannot do advanced attacks like Females.

To illustrate I'll use Lloyd. He is ranked is ranked #3 the same as Galatea was. If Lloyd were to fight against Duph, he would be able to injure Duph with his regular attacks, something Galatea couldn't quite do. At the same time, he is prevented from doing super powerful attacks like Jean which could obliterate Duph, because he can't do 50% attacks. An ability like the Super Jump would require a 30% release of Yoki.

NO MODDING
Another thing to keep in mind about an RP is modding, which is when you don't give people a time to react. When you announce what your character will do, give your opponent a chance to react. Don't just say "my character chops off the Yoma's head". Say "my character swings her Blade, aiming at the Yoma's throat". It will make for a much more enjoyable RP. Alright, that's all I wanted to add. Continue and Enjoy."
