Oregon State made their first ever trip to Beaver Stadium and the way this one turned out it may be awhile before they return. Oregon State blew a excellent scoring opportunity with their first possession after the defense held Penn State on their opening drive. Oregon State was driving when Canfield threw into triple coverage in the endzone leading to Penn State's first of five interceptions.

Oregon State's offense was not able to get on track at all against Penn State, there were plenty of opportunities, but again Canfield did not do a good job of reading the Nittany Lions defense and forced some throws. In the first half the Beavers were able to control the game on the ground, but a couple third and longs was where the trouble began for Canfield. Oregon State will take a look at Lyle Moevao in practice this week and look to get him a few more snaps against Hawaii.
For the second straight game the defense was able to keep the Beavers close and held Penn State to 157 yards of total offense and forcing two interceptions of their own. Linebackers Isaiah Cook and Bryant Cornell had their first interceptions of the year. Cornell was given the game ball for Oregon State with a good game Cornell's stat line was 6 tackles and his first interception. Their is no doubt that some frustration was setting in on the defensive side of the ball with the lack of production from the offense.

Oregon State will have their first home game against Hawaii and Reser Stadium will get their first taste of their 2008 Oregon State Beavers. Can the Beavers bounce back and get some offensive production against a Hawaii team that we rely heavily on their defense this year with the loss of Colt Brennan and head coach June Jones.
