Hi, my name is Mary, you have entered Hummingbird Lane. Here you will find some of the crafts, poems, stories and happenings that go on in my life. Aways a Crafter at heart, I have tried almost every craft that has come along, thru the years. I worked as a Floral Designer for many years, had a Tearoom/Gift Shop, taught Tole Painting, Leaded Glass, Craft and Card Classes among many other things. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and hopefully a Friend. I enjoy the change of the seasons but mostly Winter. I love Snow, maybe not as much as I use to since the cold creeps into my bones more now than when I was young. I have been reminded of my age of late by someone asking me, " Do you know how old you are?", dumb question I thought, Yes, I do but if I could, I would still make Snow Angels, stomp in Puddles, Walk in the spring rain, ride on RollerCoasters, play in the Ocean, and make Sand Castles. I think something is lost if you forget the things that made you happy as a child. You can grow up but you can still be young at Heart. I have always wondered what was meant by "Act your age", does that mean, act old, you are 62 or what, each person is as old as their hearts think they are, I really don't think it has anything to do with how many years you have been on this earth. There is nothing wrong with being silly, romantic, happy or young at heart at any age. You can be 25 and be an old, unhappy person or you can be 90, unable to get around like you once did and still enjoy the things in life that make you happy. I have realized that you have to make your own happiness, alone or with others, each day you have a choice to be in a good mood, even if life is throwing you curves or you can be in a bad mood, let lifes pains overtake you and be a grump. Find something each day to be happy about, to find beauty in, your hubby, your children, a memory, just one thing may change your outlook on the whole day....Well, I could go on ranting for pages...... on to bigger and better things.
I have changed this site from a place to sell cards to just a place where you can view my handmade cards. I hope you can get an idea for a card or craft from my samples and will share it with your family and friends. I am willing to share ideas and hopefully get some others from you. I am always in need of inspitation, so please leave comments, ask questions or give me an idea or two.
The Children's Books are written by me and can still be ordered and personalized in some cases.
All Poetry and Verse is written my me and have a copywrite. I am always glad for anyone to use it in cards or on projects but please give me credit if you do so.
