Mission Statement
The mission of Humboldt Junior High School is to provide all students with the skills needed to reach their highest potential in both academic and workplace environments. This includes meeting, and/ or exceeding the three year average set forth by the state Terra-Nova Test, and meeting the No Child Left Behind expectations for our school and all relevant subgroups represented in our student population. Both faculty and staff are dedicated to making each classroom a learning environment in which all students have the opportunity to learn and are encouraged to excel both academically and socially.
School Beliefs
Learning, achieving, and succeeding can be experienced by all students.
Students learn best when they are given the appropriate opportunities for success.
Students have the right to a safe environment in which learning can take place.
Learning should be a responsibility shared by students, teachers, parents, and the community. Lifelong learning should be emphasized.
Various teaching methods and assessments provide students with a greater opportunity for success.
With the help of parents, teachers, and the community, students can be challenged to work toward success.
Instruction should be meaningful to students and connect to real-life experiences.
Each student is a worthy individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
When shown by example, students develop a cooperative attitude toward living and working with others.
Students develop competency in the learning process when spiritual, social, and economic needs are met.
