eveything you need to know about Resident Evil

resident evil 2

Normal Enemies:

 Zombie

Description: The basic offspring of the T-Virus.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun
While almost every weapon (with the exception of the Knife) is good against a Zombie, the Handgun is the ideal weapon to use. It will down a Zombie in just 3-5 shots, or a single shot if you aim up with the Shotgun when one is in close range. A Zombie will not only attack while they are standing, but even while they are on the ground. They may move slowly, but can deal a decent amount of damage, and are usually found in larger numbers. Do not take them lightly.

 Cerberus

Description: A canine infected with the T-Virus.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun
Like the Zombie, a Cerberus can easily be killed using a Handgun, or any other weapon except the knife. After firing at it a few times, it will fall on the ground, but it will still get back up unless you shoot it a few more times. Cerberuses are very agile in running, jumping, and attacking, so they can deal damage quickly. Shooting it while it is in mid-jump will cause more damage to it.

 Crow

Description: A large, T-Virus infected crow.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): None
Crows can easily be taken out with the Handgun, or any other weapon that isn't slow, although they can be quite hard to hit using any weapon. Crows can deal a large amount of damage when they attack in groups, which they usually do. To be safe, it's best to run past Crows as quickly as possible when you encounter them.

 Webspinner

Description: A poisonous, T-Virus infected arachnid.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: Fairly Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun, Magnum
You'll mainly encounter Webspinners in narrow places, attacking in groups of 2 or more. Firing the Shotgun or Handgun at them will not be enough to take them out, but a Grenade Launcher and anything more powerful will do the trick. Webspinners can deal a lot of damage to you or even poison you, so they should be dealt with quick enough to avoid taking much damage.

 Bug

Description: A small insect
Difficulty: Very Easy
Appearance: Rare
Recommended Weapon(s): None
Backup Weapon(s): None
These small bugs are found only in one part of the game. Stopping and killing them are a waste of time, since one hit from any weapon can kill them. To avoid taking any damage or wasting ammo, simply don't bother and run right past them.

 Licker/Super Licker

Description: A creature with a dangerously long tongue.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: Fairly Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Handgun
Using a Handgun against a Licker is a bad idea, but it is a good backup for when you do not have ammo for the Shotgun, as long as you keep your distance. They attack using either their very long tongue or their claws, which don't do too much damage. A Licker can kill you instantly by wrapping it's tongue around your neck and pulling. A Super Licker is the same thing as a normal one, except with a slightly different in appearance, as well as being more powerful overall.

 Ivy/Super Ivy

Description: A T-Virus infected plant.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: Not Too Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
Backup Weapon(s): Flamethrower
An Ivy is an huge plant mutated by the T-Virus, standing in an upright position. They can harm you by whipping you with their vines or by spitting poisonous acid at you. The Grenade Launcher (with Flame Rounds) and the Flamethrower are the best weapons to put them down. The Super Ivy are basically the same, except a slightly different appearance and is more powerful overall.

 G-Larva

Description: Larva from the G-Imago.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: Rare
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): None
While fighting the G-Imago boss, it will occasionally drop it's larva to attack you. Upon reaching you, a G-Larva will jump on you and start to suck your blood. After a short amount of time, your character will automatically throw it off on to the ground. A G-Larva can be killed in one hit with pretty much any weapon, though using something stronger than the Handgun is a waste of ammo.

Other Enemies:

 Brad Vickers

Description: A S.T.A.R.S. member turned Zombie.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: One Time Only
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): None
Brad Vickers is basically a Zombie that could take several more shots than a normal one. He only appears in the beginning of the game after making it to the Police Station without picking up ANY items. Brad is found in the long passageway leading to the front of the R.P.D. This enemy ONLY appears in Normal mode.

 Marvin Branagh

Description: An R.P.D. officer turned Zombie.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: One Time Only
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun
Marvin is the cop Leon meets early on in the game, except he has now completely turned into a Zombie. The Handgun is the ideal weapon for downing him, although you can still deal an instant kill with the Shotgun by aiming up while he is in close range. Take this officer down as you would any other Zombie in the game.

 Vines

Description: Plant-like enemy found in the lab.
Difficulty: Very Easy
Appearance: One Time Only
Recommended Weapon(s): Flamethrower
Backup Weapon(s): Lighter
In the Laborator, there is an infected plant-like creature with vines sticking out of the wall. Since the area near the Vines is covered with gasoline, fire would be the best choice to take it out, which can be done in one of two ways. You can either use the Flamethrower found in the very same area (only Leon can get this), or the lighter. After you ignite the gasoline, the Vines are done for.

Boss Enemies:

 Mr. X

Description: A huge trenchcoat wearing man.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Handgun
You encounter Mr. X numerous times throughout the B-Mode games, but beating him isn't really a challenge. Dodging his attacks is fairly simple and only involves a little bit of running at the right time. When you are clear of he attack, retaliate with a few shots from the Shotgun or Handgun. If you reach a spot where you cannot run anymore, wait until Mr. X lifts his arms up to attack, and slip by. Repeat this until he's down.

 G-Imago

Description: A large, G-Virus infected monster.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun
The G-Image is a large fleshy monster that drops its larva to attack you, which are the only real threats to you in this battle (see the G-Larva enemy). Avoid the larva and fire away with the Magnum, or if you do not have that, the Shotgun. Continue shooting it until it starts bleeding and begins to shrink, which marks the end of the battle.

 Giant Crocodile

Description: A very large crocodile.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Handgun
You encounter the Giant Crocodile in a very long corridor leaving you no place to go but backwards. It's only attack is to bite you, which thankfully doesn't deal that much damage. One method to defeat this boss is to just shoot at it with all you got until it's finished, but there's a much easier way. Keep running down the corridor until you see a switch with a capsule on the left wall and press it. Wait until the Crocodile bites the capsule, step back and give it a single shot with any weapon to trigger an explosion that instantly kills it.

 Giant Moth

Description: A large, T-Virus infected moth.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Anything else
You face the Giant Moth in a small computer room in the Laboratory. There isn't much strategy involved in winning this battle. The Moth will start flying around the room at the start of the battle and all you really have to do is avoid it while firing at it any chance you get.

 Tyrant

Description: A transformation of Mr. X.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): None
Backup Weapon(s): None
Your final encounter with Mr. X will be pretty much a whole new enemy. For the majority of the battle, you cannot do anything except dodging its powerful attacks. After a short while, an unknown person will throw you a Rocket Launcher to use. In a cutscene, your character will take aim with their respective weapon and defeat the Tyrant.

 William G

Description: A G-Virus infected William Birkin.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
Depending on who you are playing as, your first encounter with William will vary. As Leon, you face William G. He walks pretty slow and his attacks don't take out too much damage. It doesn't take to much to down him, though, fire away with a weapon like the Shotgun or Grenade Launcher while avoiding its few attacks to easily win the battle.

 William G2

Description: A G-Virus infected William Birkin.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
As Claire, your first encounter with William will be this form, although you will still have to face this form later on if you are Leon. In this form, William has lost almost all of its human features and no longer weilds a pipe, however, he has a powerful set of claws to attack with. Deal with him the same way you would deal with him in the previous battle.

 William G3

Description: A G-Virus infected William Birkin.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
You fight both the third and fourth forms of William in a battle close to the end of the game, however this time it's more difficult. His attacks are a lot stronger than last time around, but it still doesn't take too much to beat him. When the battle starts, immediately start shooting, preferably with the Magnum, to get as much hits in as possible before it can attack you. After a few more shots, the third battle with William will be over.

 William G4

Description: A G-Virus infected William Birkin.
Difficulty: Very Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
After you defeat William's third form, it will drop down on all four legs and start to transform into this form. This battle is even harder than the last. William is stronger, faster, and could take a lot more hits than before. Attacks from him in this battle will do a lot more damage to you and he can avoid your own attacks much more often. Once again, the Magnum is the best weapon to use in this battle. Do your best to avoid his powerful attacks and heal when necessary.

 William G5

Description: A G-Virus infected William Birkin.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Rocket Launcher
Backup Weapon(s): Any Other Weapon
If you're playing on the B-Mode of the game, you will have to fight William one more time. In this battle, you have a very small amount of room to move around. William's attacks aren't really a big deal this time around, but rather the large amount of damage it could take before dying. If you have any Rockets left, use them first, otherwise give it everything you got since there's no more need to conserve ammo at this point.

resident evil 3

Normal Enemies:

 Zombie

Description: The basic offspring of the T-Virus.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Handgun
Backup Weapon(s): Shotgun
While almost every weapon (with the exception of the Knife) is good against a Zombie, the Handgun is the ideal weapon to use.

 Sliding Worms

Description: Small T-Virus infected worms.
Difficulty: Very Easy
Appearance: Fairly Common
Recommended Weapon(s): None
Backup Weapon(s): None
Sliding Worms aren't a challenge at all. They are much more annoying than they are difficult. The easiest thing to do when confronting them is to simply run right past them. Though the Worms can easily be killed with any weapon, the time it takes to stop and get a shot in is plenty of time for one or more to jump up and bite you, so it's best to completely ignore them.

 Hunter Beta

Description: A new variation of the Hunter.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: Not Too Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
Hunter Betas are variations of the original deadly Hunters from the first game. They won't strike until you are on their sight, and can quickly deal a considerable amount of damage. In some cases, a Hunter may be able to perform a one-hit kill on you. Shotgun blasts are great for defeating Hunters because of their wide range and ability to knock enemies down, however, using the Grenade Launcher is also effective.

 Hunter Gamma

Description: Another variation of the Hunter.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: Not Too Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
A Hunter Gamma is another type of variation of the Hunter. There isn't too much difference between this variation and the others except for the large difference in appearance, as well as the fact that Hunter Gammas are aquatic, while the others are not. Deal with them the same way as you would any other Hunter.

 Brain Sucker/Drain Diemos

Description: Strange insect-like monsters.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: Not Too Common
Recommended Weapon(s): Shotgun
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
There isn't much difference beteen a Brain Sucker and a Drain Diemos, except for their appearances and the fact that Brain Suckers can spit acid at you. In either case, one of these monsters can do a good amount of damage quickly by getting up on two legs to run at you, and then biting you to deal damage. A few Shotgun blasts work best to deal with one or more of these.

Other Enemies:

 Nicholai

Description: Nicholai trying to kill you in a helicopter.
Difficulty: Easy
Appearance: One Time Only
Recommended Weapon(s): Rocket Launcher
Backup Weapon(s): None
This battle is triggered after choosing to fight Nicholai instead of negotiatng with him. Depending on the choices you made during the game, this battle may or may not occur. No normal weapon will work against him in this battle with the exception of the Rocket Launcher. If you do not have any Rockets, just wait it out and he will eventually stop attacking and fly away in the helicopter.

Boss Enemies:

 Gravedigger

Description: A giant, mutated worm.
Difficulty: Normal
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher
You will encounter the Gravedigger on two separate occasions throughout the game, but both battles basically require the same strategy. The Gravedigger has fairly strong attacks that include swallowing you whole to instantly kill you. Using the Magnum to deal a lot of damage quickly to it while avoiding its attacks works well, but the Grenade Launcher also works good.

 Nemesis (First Mutation)

Description: B.O.W. sent to kill the S.T.A.R.S. members.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher, Shotgun
Nemesis is a Umbrella Bioweapon set to take out the last remaining S.T.A.R.S. members in Raccoon City. He bears tentacles hidden underneath its large trenchcoat and sometimes carries a Rocket Launcher. During your encounters with this form of Nemesis, give him all you got while being sure to utliize the dodge feature to avoid his attacks or you will not last very long.

 Nemesis (Second Mutation)

Description: B.O.W. sent to kill the S.T.A.R.S. members.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): Magnum
Backup Weapon(s): Grenade Launcher, Shotgun
Nemesis is even more mutated this time around, but this battle is pretty much the same as the previous encounters with him, except for the fact that you now have a time limit. You can deal a bit more damage to him by firing at the valves located along the walls of the room when he is in close range to them. Other than that, keep using the dodge feature while getting in as many shots as possible until you get him down.

 Nemesis (Third Mutation)

Description: B.O.W. sent to kill the S.T.A.R.S. members.
Difficulty: Hard
Appearance: N/A
Recommended Weapon(s): None
Backup Weapon(s): None
Defeating this final mutation of Nemesis is a lot more tricky than the previous ones, since he could take an very high number of hits before going down. To start the battle, you must push the first of three batteries located around the room the power the Rail Gun. Once all three are inserted, you must go to the room's small computer and activate the Rail Gun when Nemesis is in its range. One or two more hits from this will trigger the end of the battle and one final choice between leaving or finishing the monster off. You will complete the game either way, but you get to watch an extra cutscene by choosing to finish it off.
