Chapter Constitutions and ByLaws differ from Chapter to Chapter so your first move is to contact the Chapter that you wish to become an active member in and the previous Chapter you attended. You should always have your DUES CARD on hand.
Your previous chapter will have to submit demit paperwork before you are admitted as a member into another Chapter. However, you do not have demit or gain admittance to another Chapter to participate in functions dealing with the Order of the Eastern Star. You do have to gain admittance if you are interested in holding a seat within the Chapter. Laws will vary from Chapter to Chapter.
If you want to continue paying dues to the Chapter you may hold your heart too, that is not a problem. You are still an Eastern Star and should be welcomed by your fellow sisters and brothers.
If you have been an inactive member and for whatever reason, dropped from their rolls, you may have to pay a reinstatement fee and any monies due to your previous Chapter before they grant you any demit paperwork.
All in all you should have your dues card available, however, YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR PREVIOUS CHAPTER AND INFORM YOUR PRESENT CHAPTER.
