       How to Request Funding From the HSSICC

In order to request funds from the HSSICC you must follow these steps:

1. Attend ICC Meetings:

  • Your club must be CSUF recognized - see SORC for more information and affiliated with a department in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences
  • You need to elect up to 3 representatives to attend weekly ICC meetings (attendance is mandatory)- each representative must have a letter from the faculty advisor of the club, a 2.5 GPA, and a print out of a current class schedule

2. Request to be put on the Agenda:

  • At the end of the ICC meetings the Chair will ask if anyone would like to be put on the next weeks agenda- you must speak up and ask to be put on the agenda
  • The Director of Administration needs a synopsis of your proposal by 10pm Monday night in order for you to keep your position on the agenda

3. Meet with the Vice Chair to approve your proposal:

  • After sending your synopsis to the Director of Administration make an appointment with the Vice Chair to review your proposal
  • At the proposal meeting, with the Vice Chair, you must have assembled your packet:

Proposal Packets:

On Campus Events (Speaker/ lecture/ symposium etc)

  •  Allocation Request Form
  •  Letter from chair of department
  •  Letter from Faculty Advisor to the club
  •  A synopsis of the Event- include and handouts
  •  CV of the speaker
  •  If requesting food, advertisement etc- you must include 3 quotes from different companies
  • Honorariums for speakers may be reduced per the discretion of the Inter-Club Council

* To expedite payment of honorarium to speakers- a W9 and Standard Agreement Contract form should be filled out and submitted to the Vice Chair no later than two weeks before the event*

CHECKS ARE ONLY CUT ON TUESDAYS- RELEASED ON FRIDAYS

Conference Travel (Students presenting papers/ speaking at conferences)

  • Allocation Request Form
  •  Letter from chair of department
  •  Letter from Faculty Advisor to the club
  • Confirmation of acceptance to the Conference
  • Synopsis of research paper
  • 3 quotes for air
  • 3 quotes for hotel (if you are staying at the conference hotel you do not need to submit other quotes- documentation must be included certifying that the hotel is hosting the conference)
  • 3 quotes for car rental (must purchase liability insurance from rental agency- ASI Bylaw)
  • 3 quotes from taxi company
  • 3 quotes from shuttle company
  •  If requesting over $500 - student must contribute 25%

    *NOTE*

    ASI does not fund banquets, food allowances, Internet fees, room surcharges, first class travel, professional memberships, or subscriptions.
