Original lyrics:

"La pollera colorá"

Ay, al sonar los tambores
esa negra se amaña
y al sonar de la caña
va brindando sus amores

Es la negra Soledad
la que goza mi cumbia
esa negra sabe mucho, que caramba
con su pollera colorá.

Por eso le digo
mi negrita linda ven pa´cá
(con su pollera colorá)
Hay cómo zandunguea
la negrita Soledad
(con su pollera colorá)

Pa' allá, pa' acá
como ella baila pa' gozar
(con su pollera colorá)
Ajá, ajá mi negra linda Soledad
(con su pollera colorá)

Ahh, cuando le canto a Soledad
me siento contento,
porque con su movimiento
inspiración ella me da.

English Translation:

"The red skirt"

Ay, when the drums sound
that black girl manages
and when the cane sounds
she gives her love away

It's the black Soledad
who enjoys my cumbia
that black knows a lot, good griefs
with her red skirt.

That why I tell her
my cute little black come here
(
with her red skirt)
Oh, how good she moves!
little blackie Soledad
(
with her red skirt)

to here, to there
like she dances to enjoy
(
with her red skirt)
Ajá, ajá my cute black Soledad
(
with her red skirt)

Ahh, when I sing to Soledad
I feel happy,
because with her movement
she gives me inspiration.
