Rest In Peace Vikki H. Lowe
July 11th 1983- February 27th 2007

I designed this web page for family, friends, companions, and co-workers to visit as they desire to check up on Vikki and see how her ongoing progress is going with her illness. I will try and update this page on a regular basis so everyone will know what is going on. I wanted to extend my thanks and gratitude to everyone who has been praying for her. All followers of Christ know that prayer can be as effective, if not more effective than medicine. God heals in miraculous ways and I hope you all continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I ask you to continue to pray for Vikki for 2 things...
Her Health, physical and emotional, AND her finances, she has NO health insurance and this is very expensive!
Some of her prescriptions cost over $1,000 each, and the booster shot she gets after every chemotherapy is $20,000 (yes you read it right, $20,000) and thousands more for hospital and doctors visits/chemotherapy.
Just a recap for those of you who don't know the whole story...
Vikki is 22 years old and lives in Derry, New Hampshire. She has been very very sick recently and after ongoing tests, xrays and doctors appointments, it has been decided by those seeing her that it is a form of cancer. She had a lacroscopic procedure and biopsy in the beginning of October and a week later had a portacath put it (a portacath is a direct line to the heart, a perminant IV line surgically inserted above her left breast. It is used for blood draws, and more importantly chemotherapy)
She had her first 2 days of chemotherapy in Boston last Thursday and Friday and a booster shot to boost her white blood cell count on Saturday. She is only supposed to be feeling sick 2-3 days after her treatment, but its been a week now and she is still sick. She has a fever of 102 degrees, constant vomiting, she cannot eat anything.
Vikki had a Doctors appointment today (Friday, Nov. 4th) and the type of cancer she has is very very rare. Its called Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) and is a rare, aggressive, malignant tumor usually present with widespread abdominal serosal involvement. Isolated cases occur in limbs, head and neck, and brain. This cancer responds to chemotherapy and sometimes radiation and or surgical extraction. Once the cancer is gone, it will not respond to chemotherapy again, so please pray that it will go away the first time and never come back.
Vikki's doctor decided that since her symptoms are still ongoing due to the chemotherapy, that she should be admitted to the hospital to get her pain and illness under control. Her white blood cell count is also low. These next couple days she will be under the care of doctors and nurses in the hopsital... and she should start feeling better from this dose of therapy within a couple of days.

People Love Vikki!!!!!
