I got this zine last year at the pdx zine symposium only to lose it on the greyhound ride back home in between the various transfers, I was super pissed because this was the zine of 1004 that I REALLY wanted to read. In the vein of Chainbreaker with a focus woman and trans empowerment, Clitical Mass is an awesome comp zine stories of bike travels, bike circuses, bike culture and various accounts of combating sexism in the bike community, how to's on dressing for biking but still lookin’ good, tips on bike self defense, and various projects you can do to spruce up your bike, like bike blenders and bike covered wagons. also included is a bike community resource guide like the slingshot infoshop guides. this is an awesome zine much needed in the bike community, and a definite must read.

Excuse Me, Can You Please Pass The Privilege?(CT/MA)

Josh has always been one of my favorite kids from CT. I didn't even know he made zines until May of 2003, which sucked cause I was already moving away cause I thought CT was a shithole. Enough about me thou, this zine is THE SHIT! Josh talks about his experience with his own privilege, and the privilege in the punk scene, and what he is doing about his own privilege, and what ways you can deal with your privilege. I seriously want to hand it out to every "radical" kid in my community. I want everyone whos ever experienced privilege to read it. I want it to be wheatpasted on walls across america. This is really important shit we need to know. And I'm glad Josh had the courage to make this zine.

Figure 8 #2 (PDX, OR)
Ok writing this review I realized this sounded too much like Jessica of Arcade Distros description which I didn't mean to do at all!!! This is one of the most radical and empowering zines I have ever read. its written by Krissy of Ponyboy press. This zine dispels such myths as fat people have no will power, that fat people are unhealthy, that all fat people can lose weight, that being fat makes you less of a person etc. Most of this zine is centered on the deadly and fatal gastric bypass surgery that has been becoming so popular among "morbidly obese" people. It gives you the real statistics and talks about how its a procedure which mutilates your body. this zine is a must for everyone!!!
($2-1oz-1/2 size-30 pgs)

Figure 8 #3 (PDX, OR)
Yay! What I've always wanted, another issue of Figure 8!!!! Intreviews with Marilyn, the creator of FAT!SO?, and F.A.T.A.S.S. PDX. Grrrl Noire #3 (San Diego, Ca)
"Four years with the Basement Brigade"! The best four years of my life were spent rediscovering zines, activism, and veganism. The kids at 500 N. Salisbury Street taught me the real reason to protest. A quarter size pocket zine filled with two-wheel politics, Spirit of '77, and punkish short stories during the best riot grrrl years of my life. Black and white gritty collage and brief text.[Reviewed by Kim Riot]
($2.00-2oz-1/4 size-52 pgs)

Grrrl Noire #4 (San Diego, Ca)
The fourth zine takes a hard look at the college years through rants about being a traditional skinhead, art vs. science, and a personal plea about mental illness. Chalked full of book, zine, and music reviews and a DIY tee shirt section. As always, lots 'o collage and obscure visuals.[Reviewed by Kim Riot]
($2.00-2oz-1/2 legal-38 pgs)

How I Learned To Love Myself And Occasionally Other Men (Chicago, Il)
I Love Dave more than anything, and thats probably why I'm writing his zine description at 1am. This zine is like one of the best queer zines I've read in a while and it only took me three years to distribute, and I really don't know why. Anyways Dave chronicles his own personal struggle with being queer and coming out all while smashing gender binaries and defining queerness for himself, his way of wrtiting ("back to the great big bathroom known as the internet") along with the most hilarious stick figure drawings i have ever seen make this a really important and amusing read.
(fiddy cents-1oz-1/4 size-22 pgs)
