Heart of Texas ENA

 Melanie Aluotto serves as President of the Heart of Texas Emergency Nurses Association. She has been a Registered Nurse for more than 5 years at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, TX. Her practice has been exclusively in the emergency care setting since obtaining her RN in 2001. Melanie is the Trauma Coordinator at St Joseph Regional Health Center. Melanie graduated Cum Laude from Blinn Nursing Program. In the past she has held the office of President in a local chapter of TNSA. In 2003, Melanie was highlighted in a local magazine as  “Leading Women of the Brazos Valley: Healthcare” nominee. She currently practices as a TNCC instructor, BLS Instructor and has obtained her CEN. Melanie is also a Certified Adult and Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. As HOT President, she coordinated the "Heart of the Issue Symposium" in 2005 and 2006 . She designs and publishes the HoT Press for the Heart of Texas ENA chapter. Melanie also designed and updates our local HoT ENA website. Debbie Griffith serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Heart of Texas Emergency Nurses Association.  She graduated from Texas A&M University with her B.S. in 1982 and from Blinn College with her ADN in 1999.  Since graduating from nursing school, Debbie’s experience has been solely in the emergency setting and she has been at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan for over 6 ½ years where she is currently the week-end night charge nurse.  In past endeavors, Debbie has been involved with the League of Women Voters, Hospice of Brazos Valley and Literacy Volunteers of America.  She is currently a TNCC instructor and is a Certified Adult and Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.  Debbie is also working towards her Masters in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler and hopes to graduate in the Spring of 2007.  She resides in Leon County with her husband of over 22 years and their two four-legged children, Hunter and Kelsey.  You may reach her at her e-mail address:  ldgriffith@txcyber.com.
