Anyone who has access to any form of media has heard some or all of these terms. We are barraged with evidence that digital technology is affecting virtually every aspect of our lives. A key characteristic of the digital age is that it is information abundant and intensive. Information literacy is required because of the increasing profileration of information resources and the variable methods of access. Individuals are faced with a plethora of information choices - in their studies, in the workplace and in their lives. Sheer abundance of information and technology will not in itself create more informed citizens, without a complementary understanding and capacity to use information effectively. Now to the classroom, and what has been the impact of technology on teaching and learning, in particular, in the language classroom?
