HOSANNA CHURCH: A Place For You

Welcome to the Hosanna Church Website!

We are a family oriented church located in Oxford, Maine. Our main meetings are our Sunday Morning worship at 10 AM and our various small groups which meet throughout the week. We also offer something special (movie night, concert, special speaker, etc) on the third Sunday evening of each month at 6:30. Check below for specifics!

Our Sunday morning gathering features:

  • "blended worship music" (both new songs and old ones) as our worship leadership team leads the congregation in singing.
  • We offer a fully staffed, recently redone nursery & toddler room for little ones under the age of 5.
  • When the time comes for the morning teaching or preaching message, we offer Kids Church for children age 5 through grade 6.
  • We also offer an adult "special needs" class at this same time.

Our two pastors have both been here for a long time. In October pastor Dallas E. Henry marked 33 years on staff at Hosanna Church. Pastor Eric J. Hanson completed 27 years on staff back in June. They have worked side by side to see this church family become a strong voice for God in this community, and a place for healing of people and families. In addition to their work in the church, each of these two pastors is involved in outside ministry, ranging from chaplaincy work to teaching classes at Oxford Hills Christian Academy. Dallas and Myrna have three adult children. Eric and Nancy also have three adult children.

Weekly Adult Small Group Line Up

  • Adult small groups:
  • Wednesday mornings at 10:00 at the church building and homes
  • Two groups Wednesday evenings at 7:00. These meet in various homes.
  • Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at Bucknam Oaks Community Room in Mechanic Falls
  • These get-togethers feature singing of requested songs, Bible study, sharing of prayer requests/praying for each other's needs, and refreshments.

Monthly Meetings

  • Evening Meeting: (Third Sunday of each month at 6:30 PM)

  • Men's Ministry: Our men's ministry meets once each month, usually on the third Saturday of that month at 8:00 AM. We enjoy breakfast together, and then we do something, which could be a dynamic teaching, a work project, or a fun time. Young men from about age 16 on up to the older men of retirement age get together for encouragement and challenge in the rigors of following Jesus Christ in genuine and powerful ways. Topics ranging from the work place to marriage are fair game at Hosanna Church Men's meetings.

  • Ladies Fellowship meets each month for women of all ages to encourage and help each other in many aspects of life. Often a lunch, a shower, or other fun stuff is the centerpiece of that month's meeting. Sometimes there is a guest speaker. The normal time is the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 AM.

How can I Really Know God?

Have you asked Jesus Christ to be your savior? Do you have questions about him? Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the (Heavenly) Father, except through me." Jesus also said "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live!" Please make the life giving choice to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior today! Call us for help with this.

Jesus proved these words. He was crucified for the sin of the World, (fulfilling many Old Testament scriptures in the process), and buried after his death on the Cross. On the third day, he rose from the dead in utter triumph over death, Hell, and the grave! His followers, who had been hiding for three days, now became as bold as lions, telling everyone that forgiveness of sin and everlasting life can be theirs through Jesus Christ!
