This IS NOT an anti-horse racing forum. We love horses and we love the race. It is the ever-increasing record high numbers of on-track injuries and equine fatalities that have us concerned, as well as the fact that nearly half of all horses going to slaughter today are racing industry cast-offs.

Track-side injuries and fatalities have nearly doubled in the last ten years and nearly half of all horses being sent to slaughter are racing industry cast-offs. We think these issues deserve more exploration than they have been getting and we hope to do our part here in identifying the problems and discussing possible solutions
