Hopeful Farm

Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight

Welcome to Hopeful Farm

Home of Handsome Man, Congenial, Supreme Court, Southern Charm, Led Astray, Handsome Problem, Perfect Picture and many future champions...

Welcome to Hopeful Farm, we are a racing establishment in coaliation with Photo Finish a simulated horse racing game. We have our establishment in southwest Michigan, just a few hours from the prestigious Arlington Park outside of Chicago. We hope to become a premier racing and breeding establishment within the world of Photo Finish.

We joined the ranks of Photo Finish during the 2004 Racing Season when we were given 5 horses; we have since grown to house over 50 horses - which includes breeders, racers, yearlings, and foals. We believe that every horse has a purpose, be that as a great champion or as an Allowance racer. Here at Hopeful Farm we hope to bring out the best in each and every one of our horses.

While we are primarly a racing establishment, our Breeding Program has expanded to the point that at least once a year we will be opening our doors for public inspection. We do not like offering our horses up at the public auction, but prefer to recieve private bids from indiviudal stables. Each year we will publish a list of horses that are potentially for sale, then as offers come in we will decide which horses to sell and those that we will keep. We believe that this is the fairest way to do business, as it will give new/smaller stables a chance to get some fine horses.

We also consider offers made at anytime in the year. Too often we are at, or close to, maximum capacity; and we like to keep 2-3 stalls open at any given time. So if you see something, please feel free to e-mail us with your offer. We will consider all serious offers on most of our horses. For more information visit our Sales Barn or e-mail us with any questions or inquiries.

If you need to contact me (Chelsey), please drop me an e-mail at HopefulFarm_PF@hotmail.com.

For Sale

WANTED:

Good broodmare/potential broodmare. Willing to pay six figures for the right mare. Looking for older female racer or broodmare. Must be proven on tracks with solid AR.

--------------------------------

In the Sales Barn...

We are looking to add some new blood to our breeding program. So we are selling a few of our broodmares. Check out the sales barn for more information, or go to the Broodmare Barn to see all of our Broodmares.

--------------------------------

Spotlight Ad: Maxzene's Affair

Maxzene's Affair is a good broodmare who has produced some nice foals from us in the past. She was one of our first broodmares and we think very highly of her. The only reason that we are selling her is that we have another broodmare who is very similar. She has a solid AR and did wel on the tracks. In addition she has excellent bloodlines (Black Tie Affair x Maxzene).

This could be a great broodmare for a new breeding program, or an established one looking for a mare with good speed and who could reach 12 furlongs.

E-mail Chelsey with your offer on this veteran racer!

Coming up...

  • Mid-Season (approx June/July gametime) we will be having our 2nd Annual Sales Showcase where we will put up about 15 - 20 horses up for consideration (although, we may only sell 4 or 5). Most of these horses will be racers, although we anticipate a few younger horses and perhaps a few breeding mares will also be offered. The purpose of this sale is to sell proven racers to stables so that they may finish out the season with their new owners.

Two 6-year old Stallion's Shipped to Hopeful Farm

We recently purchased two older male horses to add to our band of racers. Rainy Damask is a 6 year old stallion who has won over $1 million dollars. He was purchased for $20,000 and we feel will make a good addition to our band of horses. He’s a turf racer who will do well at the G3 or even G2 level. We will see if he still has some of his stamina at 6, and see how he does from 10 furlongs and up on turf.

United is another 6 year old colt by Unbridled. He is still a maiden, but hasn’t raced since he was three. We are a little concerned about that, and do feel that he is past his prime; but we are hoping for a solid money-maker from him. He was purchased for $30,000 and feel that it is a fair price. We are expecting him to race from perhaps 9 furlongs or more. He will be tested early in a small Allowance race to see where he is.

Both of these aged stallions were from Endless Vista and we became interested in them.  Currently, we have 8 active racers, with three of those who we can actively count on. In these stallions we aren’t looking for breeding potential, and we aren’t honing them to become the next champions. We are hoping that they still have enough in them to be competitive, and we are trying to get the best out of them that we can.

We expect solid earnings from Rainy Damask, and we are hopeful about United’s potential. We hope to keep them on for the year, and perhaps even next year as racers.
