1995 Accord EGR port cleaning
sooner or later this job will need to be done
Tools needed are 10mm sockets, pocket screwdriver,5/32drillbit, shoprags and a couple of short bungee cords
Relieve fuel pressure by opening gas cap

Start off by removing the throttle cable bracket and air valve from the throttle body, hold the throttle cables out of the way with a bungee. The PCV valve and hose can be tucked behind the throttle body.

3 vacuum hoses need to be taken loose from the rail, the hose to the pressure regulator can stay hooked up

3-10mm nuts hold the fuelrail on; have the shoprags nearby at this point, after the nuts are removed you can start getting the fuelrail to come loose from the injectors; some fuel may spill out now. I always try to keep the injectors stuck into the intake, because of the mess that will be made soon can't fall into the intake

Now the fuel rail has been tilted up and hung from the underside of the hood with the bungee cord, the EGR runner housing is at last in sight. Remove the 10mm bolts that hold it to the intake manifold, when it is loose grab it and the gasket and take them off the manifold

Totally plugged up!! Gagged with carbon soot!! This is why there was a lean burn stumble under acceleration

The ports in the intake are plugged up, use the drill bit and start 'hand' drilling into the ports to remove the blockage, keep blowing the dust away. When the drill bit goes all the way thru you can use the side of the drill bit to "rod out" the rest of the hole. the ports are of different sizes and you don't want to expand the hole size with the drill bit, just get all the carbon out.

The runner channels need to be cleaned out, most of the big stuff will scrape out easily, to get it all really clean try this brand of cleaner, I fill the runners with it and let it soak while I drill out the ports.

Reassemble everything in reverse order when it is all cleaned. All the 10mm nuts&bolts are around 10ftlbs torque. Before you put the fuel rail back on it's a good idea to put a light smear of silicone grease on to the injector 'O'rings to help them seat. Check for leaks after the engine is restarted.
Best of Luck I hope this helps you
