Welcome to Homeschooled Teen.A free online magazine and forum for homeschooled girls ages 12+ |
Homeschooled Teen, a magazine for homeschooled girls ages 12 and up, was created in July of 2006 by Mandi S-K (age 14). Homeschooled Teen, published monthly, is written by girls for girls. Each issue is filled with articles, recipes, jokes, drawings, photographs, stories, and more, sent in by teen girls from around the country. It's exciting to read a magazine written by homeschooled teen girls, and also, very rewarding to have have your stories and articles published.
The Homeschooled Teen community is growing steadily, and all of the girls on the message boards are friendly and cooperative. Homeschooled Teen forums are perfectly safe, lots of fun, and a good place to make new friends. But still, we all practice basic internet safety -- do not give out your phone number, address, last name, etc.
To view each issue of the magazine when it comes out, you must be a registered user on the forum. You can choose to post on the forum if you want (and I hope you will! =]), or you can just access the board where the magazine is posted.
There is one problem with the homeschooled teen forums - when the the magazine/forums were created in July, they were hosted on a forum host called "forumcircle". Forumcircle let children under 13 sign up, but they had a rule where a parent/guardian had to fill out a permission slip, saying that their child could sign up. However, a few weeks ago, Homeschooled Teen got a new website, and the forums were recreated on a new host called "proboards". We didn't know this when we made the new message board, but on proboards, they don't let children under 13 sign up at all! Since Homeschooled Teen is for kids 12 and up, the only advice I can think of is saying that you are 13 when you sign up.
I'll also add that, for some unknown reason, if you sign up with a "verizon.net" email address, the forum will not send you an activation code to your email address. If your account is not activated, you cannot access the forums. I have no idea why it does this, but other people on other forums have had the same problem.
If you are having trouble with getting the activation code sent to you, send me an email at homeschooledteen@gmail.com and I'll help you out.
