Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over a thousand years. Indian Head Massage is deeply relaxing and is a wonderful and effective way to release mental and physical tension, and avgieve a peaceful state of mind.

The advantages to Indian Head Massage are that it requires little space or expensive equipment, as it is done sitting in a chair. (However I prefer my clients to lie down for the face massage) And it can be carried out anywhere as it does not necessarily require the removal of clothes.

The essence of the workshop is on the practical ‘hands-on’ mastery of this wonderful therapy. Participants will have the opportunity to receive as well as give a full Indian Head Massage. The workshop also incorporates the main Ayurvedic Marma points located on the head, neck and shoulders within the instruction of the treatment

The day consists of:

  • The History of Indian Head Massage 
  • Chakras
  • The purpose and benefits of the treatment
  • Hygiene
  • Contra-indications
  • The Indian Head Massage routine: step-by-step instruction and practice
  • After care of patients
  • A fully illustrated manual along with a Diploma of Achievement
  • Contraindications to head massage.
  • The location and treatment of the main Ayurvedic Marma points on the head, neck and shoulders, and their use in Indian Head Massage.
  • Anatomy & Physiology certificate is not required for this course.
  • The course manual covers basic A&P, contraindications, massage, case studies, etc
  • Includes a comprehensive workshop manual.
  • Individual attention in small classes – limited to 6 per class.

    Just wanted to say a quick thank you for yesterday! I had a fab day, and came away feeling really confident that I can actually give the treatment (as long as I have my cheat sheet!). We had such a lovely group for the day! I enjoyed myself and Michelle gave me such a lovely massage! I had an early night last night, but ended up lying there for about 2 hours just enjoying how lovely my neck and shoulders felt!
