- THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THE POT
- Your starting hand and how much you will have to pay
to see the flop as well as your chances for hitting the correct kind
of cards should all be compared to the expected amount of money in
the pot.
- Playing in a late position not only affects your
ability to lower the risk of the blinds being raised, but it also
will make you able to control how much money there will be in the
pot. In the last position you can of course see how many players
have already placed their bets before you decide whether to join in
or not.
- If you sit with a couple of cards which will need
great support from several other cards from the flop to make a good
combination its hardly smart to join in on a flop with only one more
player in.
- I suggest you only play in a full 9 or 10 player room.
With 9 or 10 players around the table you will always know that there's a
chance that somebody will have very good cards on hand, which reduces your
chances of winning, but it will also make sure that the hands that
you do decide to play will often start with a good amount of money
in the pot due to the fact that all the bets of the players in
earlier positions will already have been made. Therefore: Play
awfully tight to make some really good wins and to reduce your
losses!
