The Uk`s most famous, where to begin ? OK the top ten in reverse order. (as of 2007)
No 10. Fuijin "Sumo Power" R33 Drag Car
Presently at number 10 because it is still a relatively new car.
Andy Barnes of Sumo Power has great plans for this car with
very high and realistic expectations. After a few years of planning Fuijin
finally made its first debut onto the Santa Pod strip late in 2006.
On the cars first day of testing and at only 750bhp it recorded a
9.2 quarter mile.

set fire to the tarmac.

No 7. Keith Cowie`s R32

Keith`s R32 GTR was the first GTR in the UK to run
a sub 10 sec quarter mile.
At the UK`s Ten of the Best II competition in August
2003 it managed a 9.9sec quarter mile.
It has since run a 9.2 sec quarter mile.
Now that a 3ltr OSGiken engine has been fitted it is reputed to
be running at over 1000bhp.

No 5. Prospec`s R34 GTR Vspec

Although no longer in the UK Shin Inoue`s R34 is an
absolutely stunning car. Although badged as a
Vspec II Nur it was infact a 1999 car. Under the bonnet
was a Mines built Nur Engine and HKS 2530 turbos.
Carbon fibre prop shaft and Nismo R Tune suspension.
The car was used in the Duke Video/ DVD being driven
Falken Race driver Dirk Schoysman.
And then for some top speed driving through Belgium.

No 4. Jun Super Lemon Drag R11.

Owned and driven by Mick Begley. The "Lemon" as its called has
recently been overhauled by Abbey Motorsport and has a new
Hollinger gearbox. This is without doubt one of the loudest GTR`s
that you`ll ever come across. The Lemon was also used in one
of Jeremy Clarkson`s "No Limits" DVD.

No 3. Tim Webster`s Millenium Jade R34 Vspec II Nur.

Tims Nur defines eveything that you believe a GTR to be.
Used as a true road car this R34 Vspec II Nur with its 2.8ltr
RB26 engine is well capable of a 9 sec quarter mile
And it also looks supurb.

No 2. "Ichiban"

Without doubt, "Ichiban" is Sumo Powers most famous demo car.
Purchased by Andy Barnes as a standard R34 it started life as an
everyday road car before being tuned to 600bhp. In 2003 it
was turned from a 600bhp fast road /track car into the awesome
drag car that most of us remember it for. Although it wasn`t the
UK`s first GTR to get a 9 sec quarter mile it was promoted as
Europes fastest car because it had run 2 consecutive times as
required by drag rules and the record was recognised with
10.2 sec. In 2004 with full drag slick tyres it consistantly
produced 9 sec runs and so rightly (in my opinion) deserves the No.2 spot.

In 2006 he was also offically recorded doing over 200mph over
a standing mile.
