This was to be my first trip with the GTR Owners club, and where else could you wish to go?

9am, 18th June and i was meeting other members at Stafford Services a few miles north of Birmingham. The first to arrive were Ross and Penny, unfortunately they weren`t in their R32 as the turbo`s had blown the day before. Then the south east contingent arrived. John and Claire, Gav, Harry and Iain. We quickly said our hello`s and then headed off to Heysham.

On our arrival at the port we meet Jason and Philippa, Nigel and Andy. 3 hours on the ferry gave ample time for introductions with plenty of car talk.

The next morning the cars were started up and we left the hotel car park for our first lap of the TT course. Exiting the town of Ramsey you pass an ominus sign "Warning Mountain Road". From here there are no speed limits making for some awsome driving. Some great speeds were reached and one driver who shall remain nameless overtook 6 cars in one go. (as seen in the video below)

Later that afternoon we made our way to Jurby airfield where a company called Straightliners had been running a drag competition. Nigel went and recorded the fastest time of the day on his first run, helped along by his 600bhp.

The next morning i was awake by 7am and decide to drive over the mountain road to Ramsey and back. At that time of the morning you know your not going to meet much traffic, but i only saw 2 vans so the clear road was mine to enjoy. After breakfast we all drove to the Great Laxy Wheel for a few photo shoots. Then it was back onto the mountain road to spend an hour in Murrays Motorcycle Museum.

Monday morning and it was time to catch the return ferry back to the mainland. Everyone said their goodbyes until the next time.

A big thankyou to everyone who went on the trip.
