Another triple club trackday had been organised by the MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register, to include the Subaru, and GTROC) at Brands Hatch for Friday 22nd February. Iain and Kathryn had kindly allowed me to stay with them the previous day. So at 6.15am we set of from Woking for Clackets Lane Service Station on the M25 to meet up with Bajie and Mo. No sooner had we got there when i suddenly realised that i had left my drivers licence and signing on form at Iains house. Luckily the M25 wasn`t to congested and i managed to get there and back to the track in just over an one and a half hours. After the briefing and signing in  i warmed the car up before going out for afew sighting laps. We were only driving the Indy Circuit but it was packed solid which somewhat ruined the day as the track is less than 2 miles long. The car was abit skittish on track so i adjusted the rear wing to give maximum downforce which quickly sorted out the handling.

A couple of the other drivers weren`t quite so fortunate, Shane broke the gearbox in his R32 Time Attack Car, Bajie destroyed one of his turbo`s and Shaun (Nismoman) had an electrical fault although that was quickly fixed by Mark from Abbey Motorsport. Shane, "Nismo whore", was fortunate enough to have his R34 on hand so proceeded to spend the rest of the day flying around the track. He had recently purchased and installed a Nismo Engine, after its arrival in the UK it was transplanted into his R34 and mapped by the guys at Abbey Motorsport with 500bhp and 500lbs ft of Torque, definately not standard as these are very high torgue figures. On closer inspection it transpires that the engine is No.12 of the Nismo Endurance Race Engine`s as fitted to their 24 hour Race Cars. A very lucky buy.

The Begley brothers had turned up in their replica R32 Taisan Car but had only managed a couple of laps when the car was retired due to a cracked oil pump

A couple of other noticable cars were Johns imaculate Le Mans Edition R33 and Shauns R34, both running T04z Turbo`s and running 500 and 700 bhp respectively.

However the award for most noticeable car of the day, without doubt, goes to Harry who turned in his new Lamborgini Gallardo Superleggera. He spent the whole day giving passenger laps to his friends who had come with him. After lunch i managed to ask him if it was possible to jump in the passenger seat for 2 or 3 laps which he kindly allowed me to do. This is without doubt the best sounding car that i`ve ever been fortunate enough to go in. It was also the quickest car on track. Sadly the days of the GTR being king are long gone.

At around 4pm the track started to clear and i saw this as the ideal chance to get out and get some nice laps in without having to continuously look in the rear view mirror. The car was great fun to drive as usual however it has finally dawned on (although i`ve known for along time) that i really need to get some semi cut slick tyres, the power of the car is just to much for sport tyres with it fighting for grip even on the straights. Around about 5.30 we left the track for our last petrol stop of the day and i headed off back to Central Wales.
