Re-Launch Coming This Week

Once again, in a continued effort to improve the content and popularity of Hockey Utopia, we are planning a major re-launch for later this week. This time, we've enlisted the help of a web developer (finally), and think you'll be impressed by the drastically improved appearance of the site's home page.

It won't all be fun and games. The initial transition will leave the site temporarily sparse, and we will, for some time, be working between the old and new sites. Please bear with us during this transition.

When we reach the other side, here's what you'll find...

  • A new look -- Much more polished and professional, our new look will have HU looking more like a respectable news source than a half-assed blog.
  • A brand new forum, fully integrated with the website -- You'll log in not just to the forum, but to the website itself, allowing for better personalization of your HU experience.
  • Up to date headline news and feature articles -- With fresh content daily, Hockey Utopia will become your one stop for the latest professional and fantasy hockey news.
  • The deepest depth charts on the web -- A brand new resource updated daily with a team's entire organization mapped out on a depth chart. Never again will you wonder what a prospect's chances are of making the Bigs.
  • A weekly mail bag -- Hit the Post, a feature that we never got off the ground on the old site, will start immediately. Send in your questions and have them answered by our team of experts.
  • All the old features -- The Zoom Rankings, the Line Combinations, Idiologic... they're all still here, and ready for the new season!

Questions? Comments? Concerns? I want to hear them! Shoot me an email at admin@hockeyutopia.com (fancy new email addresses!), or PM me here on the forum. Or just post right here!

We couldn't be more excited about these updates -- Hockey Utopia is about to reach a whole new level. Stay tuned!

» Penguins Win Stanley Cup | In an unlikely turnaround from a 5-0 loss in Game 5, the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied to two straight victories to defeat the Detroit Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Finals.  Penguins captain Sidney Crosby accepted professional sports' finest trophy from league commissioner Gary Bettman, while alternate captain Evgeni Malkin received the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.  Malkin's 36 points in the playoffs lead all others, including teammate Crosby's 31 point effort.  With just over two weeks remaining until the July 1 free agent deadline, stay tuned for a barrage of rumors and news from around the hockey world.

» Hockey Utopia launches new format for Line Combinations | HU revealed its new line combinations page late Monday evening.  The new format uses the wiki concept, where any site member can edit the line combinations.  We hope that the new resource will add to the timeliness and accuracy of updates, and will help everyone to get involved with the site.  Please direct comments to the forum in the Gordie Howe Hat Trick Lounge.
