Below is a list of rules and steps that will make this process easier for everyone- me included, as well as an explanation of why we have rules one might think unfair. They`re important, but if you don't want to read them, I understand, you can just continue on to another page of mine.
- Start with the "Home" page and read the updates. If you don`t read the updates, you may miss something important, i.e. "not accepting nominations" or "closed for judging" or the like.
- Then come on over to this page and read it all- they`re important!!!
- You need to go to the categories page to see which categories you would like to nominate yourself for. Keep in mind: you will NOT win more than one per round, assuming that every category is full with more than just you (for example, if you are the only one in two categories, you will win both, but if you are not the only one, it will be judged fairly). Confusing? Don`t worry. Why? This is to give others a chance.
- Go to the nomination page to nominate yourself. Please fill in all areas if possible. The only ones you absolutely don`t need to fill in are "comments" and "button URL". The rest are required. Why? I need your email in case I have to contact you! I`ve tried having an awards site without emails, and let me tell you it was utterly horrific! I obviously need to know your name and site name and site URL, and which awards you are nominating for, and I have to know you`ve read the rules.
- Where it says "Aníron..." type "Undomiel". Why? So I know you've read the rules.
- Please please please please please! I shouldn't have to tell you what's appropriate and what's not! Nothing bad. No swearing, porn, slurring, hate, etc. Your site should be family friendly- or as family friendly as it can get. Rated G would be a nice expression to use, but the movie itself is PG-13. Just make sure your site is nice. I do check out the sites before I add them. Why? I, as a Christian, do not want to be affiliated with sites that bear hatred or "wrong" content. Basically, by putting up a site that may be offending, I am saying that I am okay with that, which I am not.
- You need to put my button ASAP! I will not put you on the nominations page if I cannot easily find my button! Why?Think of it this way: I`m going to be putting your URL up in my site. Anyone can see it if they want. So this may increase your traffic a little- maybe a lot, depending on how popular my site gets. Of course, do unto others... so if you want me to "advertise" you, please, "advertise" me.
- If you do not nominate, it is of course okay to link back to me, just don`t use a link back that says you are a nominee, or anything like that. There will be more than one code- at the very least one for those who have nominated and one for anyone else. Why? I don`t think it`s fair if you haven`t nominated and your going around sporting a button that says "Nominee!". So just choose your buttons wisely.
- If you nominate yourself in, for example, round 1 and win, then you cannot re-nominate until round three. (This does not go for Honors. If you get an Honor, then you can renominate. Also, if you do not get an award, you can renominate as well.)Why? To give others a chance, you can skip a round between nominations. It's only fair.
- After Nomination, you may want to check the other nominees, you know, see what you`re up against.
- You can check out the previous winners page as well, to see what I`m looking for and what`s won in the past. [Note: Do not count on this for layout, etc., awards because layouts and the like change, and I may have judged a different layout or something.]
- See if maybe you`d like to enter a contest!
Sites nominate-able:
- Only nominate your own sites. Don't nominate other people's sites.
- Don't nominate your site if it has nothing to do with LotR (unless you are nominating for a- best graphics or b- best non-LotR site or c-best blog. LotR actor based sites OK).
- Please don't nominate your site for a category it DOES NOT FIT IN!
Thank You! Please, enjoy, and Good Luck!
