Winners again (mostly)
young lions Last Saturday saw the sun break through for the first time this season. With the games transferred to Lauderdale because of Targa, it was ideal footy weather. Both the Seniors and Reserves celebrated good victories though the Colts put in the worst performance for the season so far, being well beaten by Lauderdale.

It took the Senior’s two and one half quarters to shake off a very determined Lauderdale team, but the situation was all under control! With the on-ballers gaining control through the middle especially Jamie Di Ienno and Justin Marriott, Scott Dickson wresting control in the rucking duels and with a clear focus in attack with Cameron Beck, Hobart gained the upper hand, turned a two goal deficit into a two goal lead as the teams turned for home.

The match was literally over five minutes into the last quarter as early goals killed the match off. Hobart continued to press and the lead blew out to 50 points before a couple of late goals to Lauderdale reduced the final deficit to 38 points. The Senior’s final score of 21.18 equalled the Reserves score of 21.18!

If this whets your appetite for more match news, download and read Phil Baker's club newsletter.

What a legend!
Did you catch Andrew Lemm's corker of a mark on Thursday night television? His big effort in the Lions vs North Hobart match a fortnight ago got a run in the Almost Footy Legends segment of WIN-TV's Footy Show. And his old man John didn't even know about it till a workmate told him the following day. You've got to relax a bit more Johnno and watch some telly.

Milestone
Daniel Gray played his 149th match for the Lions this week. He'll reach - God willing -150 games in the match against Clarence @ Bellerive on the 13th May. Secondly, and just as importantly, Trent Harvey will also achieve this significant number two matches later, against Kingborough @ the TCA on the 3rd of June. Good on you, fellows.

Footy games on Sunday
Junior and Youth football is on at the TCA on Sunday 7th May from 9.30am. Come along and give the boys a cheer!

Best-dressed
There's a new range of club clothing now available. New waterproof and lined jackets in the Club’s colours for $65, as well as polo tops keenly priced at $20 for Juniors, $25 for Seniors or - hang the cost - Deluxe models for $40.

Bingo!
Bingo is back at Wrest Point on Sunday afternoon 21st May. A cash jackpot of $500.00 as well as other great prizes to be won. A great way to spend the afternoon away from the winter weather, and an opportunity to pick up some easy cash. Eyes down at 2.00pm.

After the game on Saturday night
Thanks to the Trade Hotel in Collins Street for their support of Saturday's night function in the Trade's Bundy Lounge with live music from Who Killed Kenny. Cover charge $10, music from 9pm.

A couple of fund-raisers
The AFL Raffle is on again this year with tickets available shortly at $2.00 each. The Club receives all money raised so the incentive is there to sell, sell, sell those raffle tickets.

Lions Grand Ball
This has now been brought forward one week to 9th June because of a change in the Roster. The venue hasn't altered though, the Ball will still be held at the Hobart Conference Centre on the Elizabeth Street Pier next to T42. Cost and availability of tickets etc will be advised next week.
