»H}{RW« - Blocking & Breaking
in PVP
Good Players have modifiers added to
their stuff that blocks melee, ranged and or magic. Sometime referred to
as
fixes. That's why you can't hit some players and magic has no effect. As
long as the total % of the fix for the
block or reduce equals over 100% then you can't be hit.
There is a way however to "break" the blocks down. By using the same %
modifiers on a spell and firing it at the
player with the fix. One modifier cancels out the same modifier.
Example:
A player has used Merciless 2 x each on their helmet, gloves, boots, and
shield.
That is Merciless X 8. Merciless is Reduce Magic by 25% so over all
their character will reduce magic damage by
200%. There is no way to inflict magic damage on them unless the spell
you are using also has merciless as either
the prefix or suffix. After hitting them 8 times with the spell their
Merciless fix is "Broken". One your breaker
spell hits them 5 times they will receive start to receive damage.
Merciless 8 X 25% = 200%. If you break 5 of them or 125% that leaves 75%
reduce magic and you will start to inflict damage.
reduce left.
The following list will cover all magic blocks and reduces. Just put 2
on each spell and you will be able to break
any magic block or reduce fix with enough hits. The key to is judge your
opponent as to what they have used before
they guess yours. Knowing your opponent can make or break you.
Magic Breakers
(at the least you need to
have these breakers in your book)
1. Stern (5% reduce) and Sublime (6% reduce)
2. Infused (7% reduce) and Exceptional (8% reduce)
3. Harsh (11% reduce) and Stringent (15% reduce)
4. Ruthless (20% reduce) and Merciless (25% reduce)
5. Persevering (5% block) and Reliant (8% block)
6. Unwearied (13% block) and Unwavering (15% block)
Example of a spell with 2 magic breakers on it.

{
gold_value = 50;
inv_location = il_spell_1;
modifier_prefix_name = merciless;
modifier_suffix_name = ruthless;
template_name = spell_gom_turret_fire;
}
This spell will break all players who are protected using merciless or
ruthless.
So you can also break melee blocks,
reflect and ranged blocks. The only exception to breaking ranged blocks
is if the player has edited in rings that are shields. Then ranged
cannot be broken. Shield rings can also block melee but are
unpredictable. It will break at random times and should not be counted
on. Just hit a player once with a spell_gom_throw and stern, merciless,
unparalleled and oflightning on it to break a player with melee block using shield rings.
Melee Breakers: (un-boosted
melee reduce does not work. No matter how much you put on)
1. Informal (4% reduce) and Stupendous (5% reduce)
2. Respected (9% reduce) and Prized (10% reduce)
3. Deflecting (14% reduce) and Diverting (17% reduce)
4. Defiant (20% reduce) and Lurid (5% dodge)
5. Informal (6% dodge) and Acclaimed (9% dodge)
6. Darting (10% dodge and Wiley (15% dodge)
7. Splendorous (2% block) and Staunch (5% block)
8. Miraculous (8% block) and Constant (10% block)
9. Steadfast (13% block) and Uncompromising (16% block)
Reflection Breakers:
(these come in handy, the
most common is ofvindication)
1. Of truth (3% reflect) and Of emphasis (6% reflect)
2. Of confidence (5% reflect) and Of defiance (10% reflect)
3. Of retribution (13% reflect) and Of vengeance (15% reflect)
4. Of vindication (18% reflect) and Peerless (3% reflect)
5. Esteemed (5% reflect) and Admired (10% reflect)
Ranged Breakers:
(if your opponent is using shield for
rings these wont work)
1. Cunning (20% block) and Strategic
(18%
block)
2. Conserving (15% block) and Protective (13% block)
3. Defensive (9% block) and Blocking (4% block)
And last but not least you can break
health, magic damage, etc. Just put ofthelion, ofrepression or any other
modifier you want to break on your spells. Look them up and make
lots of breaker books.
If these modifiers are
added to either a health or mana potion and you drink
the potion, the modifier will be added to your character.
