The History Of The Beatles

Journey Of Discovery

[ The History Of The Beatles© is presented by BACKTRAX OLDIES RADIO© .  It is merely a snapshot of what the group accomplished both as a band and as individual artists after the demise of The Beatles. John Lennon once said "We were just a band that made it very, very big that's all".  No kidding!.  The Beatles were short- lived however by today's standards of Classic Rock bands where several decades of playing together has become the "norm".  The Beatles came and departed in less than 10 years, but left their mark on the entire world before their breakup in the late 60's.  A day never goes by where a Beatles song cannot be heard somewhere in the world, proving they are just as popular today as they were then.  We have witnessed some very well known bands still touring today in the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Eagles and The Police to name but a few,  that have survived the test of time, and so has their music.  We can all only imagine what the "Final World Tour" of The Beatles may have been like today had the band and two of its members survived. Surely we all would stand, cheer and say out loud.."wow, what a ride"!...]

Between 1963 and 1970 The Beatles released 23 albums, if you count soundtracks and separate US and UK releases. During the height of Beatlemania (1964-65) albums were coming at the rate of one every two months, and it wasn't incommon for the band to have numerous singles occupying high spots on the charts at the same time.

Our Illustrated Discography of The Beatles includes notes on the albums, the album covers, and the songs which comprise the career of one of the most celebrated musical groups in history.

This is the story of a high school skiffle band that woke up one day in the rarified air of international superstardom. The story of The Beatles is a story of friendships made and lost, musical barriers broken, and lives permanently altered.

It's a long way from Liverpool to legend. The journey has been the subject of thousands of books, articles, interviews, college courses, discussion groups, and late night bull sessions. And well it should be. When you add up all of the Beatles albums, singles, CDs and videos that have ever been sold, the total surpasses 1-billion. That’s billion, with a 'B.’
