Preface

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most  Merciful

Main tairay naam say aaghaz kiya karta hun—Tu mairay kaam ko aasan bana deta hy

This compilation of materials began in 2005. Although it was in my mind to have our own History of Dungra since long but I was 50 years late in working on this topic, as most of our elders have passed away who had through knowledge of our ancestry. I even did not know the name of my grand mother who was a phoopi to Sobha family. Once I asked Ghulam chacha (Gati) He said although she was his phoopi but did not remember her name. Then on widely research I manage to get her name as Kulsoom from my cousin sister Halima from Jola family of Hansot. My father had chosen this name for  his new born baby girl Kulsoom (my sister)..

Field research has been done and materials compiled here give evidence that research has been confined largely with few people who had stories of village from their elders.

Most of the information’s was provided by Mohammad Abbas (Balu Bapu) who has tremendous knowledge of past and people of every house. He is now 78 years old still got good memories of the past of Dungra.. The other people involved are Salamatullah Abdullah, Ahmed Mustafa Malek and Abdullah Munshi. Bits and pieces materials gathered from some individuals.

The most running for gathering all the information was carried out by Al Nasser Nizamuddin and his brother Amiruddin Nizamuddin. Both were involved in getting photographs of old settlers of Dungra in Gorat Area of Kim Khadi. They were in constant touch over the phone and supplying all the materials by Post, Fax and internet. While most  of the photographs supplied by Ghulam Mohammad Malik from Karachi, Zubaida Banoo Ghulam Rasul Malik from USA and Abdul Kader Rasul Hassan from Karachi.

Ahmed Mustafa Malik was very helpful in providing old documents and letters which were preserved by his father Mustafa Rehmatullah Malek who was through gentleman and well mannered.

The main objectives of this work are meant to provide the sense of belongingness especially among the youths who are keen to know about their roots. The first generation and subsequent generations always look for their  ancestors. They like to know who were they and where do they belong to. By providing family trees of all the people of Dungra they will be able to know who their great great grand father was.

Ours is an age of anxiety and restlessness. A change in the world is imperceptibly overtaking. So many changes are taking place due to IT revolution and development of personal network it is very difficult to keep pace with it. Under the circumstances it is for you to decide.

I hope and pray that younger generation will come up with more beautiful and compact addition in times to come

Ameen Summa Ameen

Du’a

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness; and I seek refuge in You from overcoming of debts and over power of people

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from poverty except to You, from humiliation except for You, and from fear except from You

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from false testimony, or committing immorality, or provoking You; and I seek refuge in You from malice of the enemies, and from enigmatic disease, and from the despair of hope.

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the wicked people, from the worries of the livelihood, and from the ill-nature.

O Allah! You are the Mercy of the mercies, and You are the Lord of the universe.

Ya Allah

Allahumma Ameen
