On 23rd April 2006, Jaybee Leuwis was presented for AWHA colt Classification,  which he  passed and became an AWHA Approved Stallion, he now carries the title of AWHA Premium Colt. Leuwis was one of four colts to pass the AWHA Colt Classification procedure in Australia in 2006, with two of those colts being imported colts. He also joins the very short list of approved stallions in South Australia.  Leuwis received excellent scores for his conformation, and scores of 8's from all five judges for his head and neck.

He has won many breed championships since he was a yearling, and now under saddle he is starting to make his mark in the dressage arena, with recent placings in the 2006 Spring Dressage Championships and 2007 State Dressage Championships. At the SA Country Dressage Championships in April 2007 Leuwis won the Novice 2.3 with a score of 70.4%.  Leuwis is now pointed out of Novice, from minimal competitions, and is now out and about competing at Elementary level. Leuwis requires no lunging at competitions, just jump on and ride!

Leuwis has inherited Leuwin's renowned temperament combined with Aachimedes talent, looks  & elegance.    He also has the bloodlines of some of Australias top eventers including Kibah Tic-Toc sired by Domherr, and Belcam Aava sired by Aachen. 

Leuwis is also showing talent over jumps, with a lovely style and bascule. In March 2008 Leuwis went to his first showjumping day.  He showed a lovely attitude over 3 rounds of jumping, and will definitely proceed further in this field.

He is an eye catching stallion, with a wonderful disposition coupled with great rideability and trainability. 

 Leuwis, like his sire is highly recommended for lady riders breeding for themselves.  If you want to breed a horse that will have an amazing temperament that you will really enjoy riding, Leuwis may be the stallion for your mare !.

Leuwis would  be suitable for breeding over older style warmblood mares, to add refinement and elegance. Or ideal for smaller thoroughbred mares to produce horses suitable for smaller riders, or the hack ring.

His first progeny are now rising 2yo and are simply stunning, with very elegant light footed movement, plus that added bit of chrome that makes them stand out. (see Hillendale Leuka page).  In 2008 we look forward to having more foals by Leuwis on the ground.

Mar 07    SA State Dressage Championships Prelim 1.4 63.4% 3rd , Prelim 1.2 66.4% 7th.

Apr 07    SA Country Dressage Championships - Naracoorte   Novice 2.3 70.4% 1st place, Prelim 1.3 66.6% 5th, Novice 2.4 60.% 7th, Prelim 1.4 65.8% = 4th. Reserve Champion Prelim Horse, 3rd place Novice Horse.

2006

Feb 2006   South Australian Dressage Association   Novice 2nd 60.6% .

Mar 2006  SA State Dressage Championships   3rd 65.4% & 6th 66.8% in Prelim classes.

Apr 2006  AWHA Gala Day   Leuwis successfully passed his colt classification. 

May 2006    Dressage Club of South Australia  1st Novice 2.1 66%,  2nd "Be Active Challenge" Novice 2.3 70%

October 2006    SA Spring State Dressage Championships 4th Novice 2.1 66.7%, 8th Novice 2.3 67.7%

2005

Mar 2005   Breed-O-Rama    1st colt/gelding filly 3 years and under.   Champion Warmblood Exhibit.

May 2005   AWHA Gala Day 1st colt/gelding/filly aged 3 years.  Champion Junior Exhibit.

Aug 2005   South Australian Dressage Association Leuwis competed in his first official EFA tests, placing 2nd in Prelim on 65% and 3rd in Novice on 60.4%

Aug 2005   Young Horse Qualifier - Echunga   6th 67.3%

Oct 2005   South Australian Dressage Association - 4 yo Young Horse Qualifier  1st Prelim 65.8% & 2nd Novice 62.4%

Nov 2005   Dressage Club of South Australia 1st Prelim 67.4%, 1st Prelim 69%, 3rd Novice 58.4%.
