Hillendale Donikian, aka "George" was named after tv presenter George Donikian, and are very similar in personality - cheeky.

George has been described as the most similar progeny in type to his sire.

Hillendale Donikian is sired by the imported stallion "Donnerblitz" by the legendary Donnerhall, and is in the first crop bred in Australia.  Donnerblitz also carries the showjumping bloodline of Landadel.  Donnerblitz has been having great success in the dressage arena, and is winning in Advanced classes at the age of 7.   On his dam side, Flamboyant produced many stunning horses before his passing, and they are all excelling in the show ring & dressage. George's Dam was one of the first horses that I bred, and she won many ASH & AWHA Championships and competed up to Elementary level dressage.

George has attended two AWHA Gala days (2006 & 2008), and among excellent company, placed in both his classes.

At the age of 3 years, George is already standing at 16.2 1/2hh. From knee to coronet, he measures 17 inches, so is exspected to mature to 17hh. George is showing a beautiful uphill balanced canter that is a dream to ride and gorgeous ground covering trot with lovely hock and knee action. He is yielding away from the leg well, and listening too all the seat aids, and with such great balance counter canter is done with ease.   It will not take much for this boy to be out performing in the dressage arena.This horse has the most marvelous unflappable temperament, and will definitely excel in the dressage arena.

George is a gentleman for both farrier & dentist. 

George has just returned from broken in by Ron Harland (almost 4 weeks away Sept/Oct 08). Ron says he is a pleasure to ride and handle.   Ron also jokingly said that he is one of the few horses that put on weight whilst being broken, due to his relaxed nature he settled straight into the new routine.

May 2009, George is now part of the SES Mounted Landsearch Team, and was ridden at his first training day. We covered approx 20kms of varying terrain. It was big outing for a 3yo amongst strange horses, he was impecably behaved. George would have to be one of the first warmbloods in Australia to be used for Mounted Landsearch.

June 2009, George competed in his first ever dressage test, and scored a whopping 61.429% in the 1.4 test. We just took it easy so he learnt what judges cars and arena posts were all about, so know next time he will have an amazing score.

2009 June. Adelaide Hills Dressage Club (George's first ever dressage test)
61.429% in the 1.4 dressage test. Am waiting for results to be published, but was in first place for most of the day.
