CityFest 2008 is Sunday, August 10, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. It runs along Fifth Ave in Hillcrest, from University Ave to Upas St.
Parking is limited in Hillcrest. Walking, Biking, Carpooling and public transportation are highly recommended. All cross streets along Fifth will be closed for one block in either direction, between University Ave and Upas Street. Shuttles will be running from outlying areas to Fifth Ave from:
Florence Elementary School Parking Lot, at First Ave and University Ave.
San Diego Schools/Birney Academy Parking Lot C, at Washington Street and Campus Ave.
DMV Parking lot, at Normal Street and Lincoln Ave.
Near Balboa Park, at Sixth Ave and Laurel Street.
Bus routes # 1, 3, 7, 10, 11, 15, 83 and 120 run through Hillcrest from various parts of San Diego. NOTE that some of these routes will be modified due to street closures for the event. Visit www.sdcommute.com for route maps and time tables.
From the North - Routes 5 or 163:Take 5 South to 8 East. Soon after take 163 South and exit at University Ave. This will drop you at a stoplight at University and Sixth Ave. Go one block to your right to the beginning of CityFest on Fifth Avenue. If you continue down to First Ave there is parking at Florence Elementary School on the right.
From the South - Routes 5 or 163: Take 5 North to 163 North and exit at Washington Street (East). To the venue: Turn Right at your first stoplight onto Richmond, then Right at your second intersection onto University. CityFest begins at University and Fifth Ave, about 7 blocks down. To Parking: Continue on Washington to the third intersection. EITHER take a left onto Campus Ave, parking is available at the San Diego Schools parking lot "C" on the right, OR Take a right onto Normal Street, parking is available at the DMV on the corner of Lincoln.
From the East: Take 8 West to 163 South, and exit at University Ave. This will drop you at a stoplight at University and Sixth Ave. Go one block to your right to the beginning of CityFest on Fifth Avenue. If you continue down to First Ave there is parking at Florence Elementary School on the right.
From Downtown San Diego: Take Sixth Ave North towards Balboa Park. There will be parking and a shuttle available at the corner of Sixth Ave and Laurel St on the right. Sixth Ave will be closed further up so parking before Pennsylvania Street is recommended.

MEDIA ENTRANCE at the event will be at Pennsylvania Ave and Sixth Ave. Sixth Ave will be closed in the block SOUTH of Pennsylvania (due to construction) so any vehicles must approach from the NORTH.
