I went to a Hilary Duff concert, and I had a pass to meet her back stage. I had a bracelet made for her. Since she's the spokesperson for the charity "Kids with a Cause," I got the bracelet engraved with the charity's name on the front and her name on the inside. She liked it a lot. She told me she would wear it that night during the concert. She came on stage, and I saw her wearing it. It was so awesome because I had to go through so much to get the pass to meet her, the concert was 5 hours away and I spent a lot of money on tickets and on the bracelet. I also think she's an awesome person. I knew she loved that charity (She has been involved with it for six years), and it was important to me to show her that it is appreciated. When I saw her wearing it, I almost cried.

* At Harvard, One Duff is not enough! *

Teen sensation Hilary A. Duff and her sister Haylie K. Duff are taking classes at Harvard this semester, but you won’t see them around campus anytime soon.

The actors-turned-singers are currently enrolled in the Harvard Extension School and began their classes on Jan. 31 through the Distance Learning Program—all while sitting at home in Los Angeles.

After wrapping up her concert tour in Canada, Hilary Duff expressed excitement about her Harvard education in an online diary last week.

“I’m taking on-line classes for Harvard University. Really cool! I am really excited about going back to school and the on-line classes are really cool!” she wrote in an entry on Feb. 4.

Professors at the Extension School film their lectures, which the sisters will be able to watch online. Other course materials are also available on the web, and all work is submitted and graded by e-mail. Exams may be administered online or in a proctored setting, according to the Extension School website. [ more ].

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Hilary Duff is now a freshman at Harvard, but hasn't stepped foot on campus.

She next stars opposite Heather Locklear in the comedy "The Perfect Man," which will be released in the summer.

The winners of the 2004 Radio Disney Music Awards were announced today. Kids across the country cast over 650,000 votes online at RadioDisney.com and via mail through Disney Adventures magazine. Duff got her crack at playing a blond brat during a guest spot on "Joan of Arcadia," which she said was a nice break from her regular gig as America's sweetheart."It's good to be back on TV," Duff said, "and one reason I'm really excited about the part is that I don't relate to it. That's fun. I get to play someone completely different to what I live with every day." In an episode called "The Rise & Fall of Joan Girardi," airing at 8 p.m. Friday (January 28) on CBS, Duff guests as Dylan Samuels, a catty classmate of Joan's at Arcadia High. ~* Christina's Road Report : Atlantic City   1/28/05  *~

We arrived in Atlantic City at 5:30 this morning. I was sooo glad to finally get to a stable room. It was so hard to sleep on the bus because of all the bumps. It took us 11 hours to get here from Manchester. The road was so bumpy, everyone on the bus was screaming and getting aggrivated. The bad thing was that Hilary was so tired from the concert the night before and she was going to have to wake up and do it all over again. But, there was no way to prevent it. I felt so bad because she was really tired. When we got to the hotel we had to get settled in so we did not go back to sleep until 6am. At 10am Hilary had to get back. I would say that those four hours were the only 'real' hours of undisturbed sleep that she was able to get. For brunch we all went to 'PF Changs' which is a really good restaurant. Then, of course it was off to sound check for tonights concert at the Trump Taj Mahal Arena. We all wanted to go to the board walk but it was way to cold. Right now, we are at the arena and Hil is about to perform. Next stop is Wilkes Barre, PA. So, see ya there!

~* Christina's Road Report : We are in Manchester, NH  1/27/05 *~

This morning we had to get up pretty early and eat breakfast in a hurry. We had to leave NYC and head to Manchester; which is where we are now. On the bus we just chilled, watched MTV and went through some of the gifts that people give to Hilary during the meet and greets. We had a 4 hour ride and arrived here at around 4:30pm. We were a little behind schedule so as soon as we hit the hotel Hilary had to go straight to sound check. Tonights show is at the Verizon Wireless Arena and it is completely sold out!! Right now Hil is getting ready for her meet and greets then it is off to perform. Tonight we have a 8 hour ride to Atlantic City, NJ for that concert tomorrow night. Well thhats all folks..;o)LOL. * Duff gets around age where things start to get tricky *

Like her peers Lindsay Lohan and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, the bubbly, 17-year old movie/television/pop star will soon be fielding personal questions that the media thinks are perfectly fine to ask a girl the second she turns 18. Like, who is she sleeping with? And, are her breasts real?And, how many cans of Red Bull did she gulp down before dancing on a table top at the Concorde? Duff, who will be 18 this September, says she is braced for the eye of the media tornado, but doesn't plan on getting caught in the storm in the first place. "I think there's a big difference between us. I think I'm very different. Some of my choices are different," says Duff from her tour bus in Albany, N.Y. "I don't think I'm as open [about my behavior] ... I think some of those people like that attention, being talked about as a party girl. I'm not into that." ~* Christina's Road Report : We are in NY City !! *~

It is warmer here, but it is still cold. Today was Hilary's day off from a concert but she had photo shoots and interviews all day. This morning Hilary had to leave the hotel at 8:45am to make it to the photo shoot for Seventeen Magazine. That shoot ended at around 3pm. They said that it will be the May 2005 cover!! Then it was off to a photo shoot for ESPN Magazine. This one was really cool. They have a spread where Hilary got to meet a really, really talented soccer player named Freddy Adu. He is only 15 years old and he plays professional soccer!! I could not believe it. For the magazine, Hilary got to interview him, then he interviewed her. The set up was really cool. Then they had a photo shoot together. That one only lasted for an hour. Of cource; since we were in NY, Hil had to get a little shopping out of her system. So, we shopped and had dinner. Hilary was exhausted by the time that we got back to the hotel so she just wanted to rest. Tomorrow, Hil has a concert in Manchester, NH. She also wanted to rest up for that. So, we are in the hotel just watching movies and snacking on chips and junk food. Well, that's all for today. I will report tomorrow with more information.

~* Christina's Road Report : Bridgeport, CT  1/25/05 *~

We are in Bridgeport today for the concert tonight in the Arena at Harbor Yard. Today Britnee's mom Yvette flew out here and gave Hilary and Britnee a total make-over. Yvette cut Hilary's hair to her shoulders. It looks really cute. The make-overs took up almost the whole day. After that we headed over to the arena for Hilary's sold out show. In an hour Hilary is going to meet the mayor of Bridgeport. Tonight after the show we are going to head to NYC because Hilary has a photo shoot for Seventeen Magazine tomorrow morning. ~* Christina's Road Report : We are now in Albany *~

Of course things have gotten a little more crazy. Especially because I jixed us by saying that this tour is not as hectic as the last tour. SURE!!! I mean there are not as many interviews but the work is definately there. The harsh weather makes everything hard. Just walking from the arena to the bus is a task. You have to layer all your clothes, then when you are inside, it is so hot you feel like your gonna pass out; so you need to 'unlayer'...Sheesh, that was hard just explaining it! Well, any way, over the weekend we traveled back to the U.S from Canada. On Friday night, we headed to Rochester, NY for the first concert in America, during this tour. The news said that 13 inches of snow fell. During the day, before sound check it was soooo boring and cold. Everything was closed due to the weather so we just stayed in a watched movies. The show in Rochester was SOLD OUT and the crowd ROCKED!!! Afer the show we were on our way to Albany. Normally this is a 3 hour ride but it took 5 hours because of the snow and slick roads. Sunday was Hilary's day off in Albany and there were no interviews. Everyone sat around in the hotel lobby and watched the Eagles beat the Falcons(NFL). During the half time show everyone was alittle restless. I forgot who suggested that we go play in the snow, but that is exactly what we did. We all piled our clothes on and ran outside like kids. I think that was the best snow fight ever. Everyone was screaming and loosing their breathe. When someone was trying to catch their breathe, thats when they would get pounded with snow balls. It was soo funny. Today Hilary woke up at about 11am and she had to get ready for soundcheck. She had 3 interviews after sound check then it was off to wardrobe for hair and make-up. Right now the show is almost over. I have to help pack up and head to the bus before everyone starts to leave so...Til next...time we will be in Bridgeport,CT.

~* Christina's Road Report: We are in Toronto... Again!!   Jan. 20, 2005 *~

(For January 20th, titled: We are in Toronto, AGAIN!!!) We were here just last week, just like in Ottawa. I'm starting to get used to this cold...NOT!!! It is freezing still. I hear it is like 87 degrees in L.A, no fair! Well, we arrived in Toronto last night after the show in Ottawa. Once again Hil has pleased her audience. Hilary is on stage right now and I am with Troy. It's cool being backstage with the music blasting and the audience screaming, it is definately an experience. I have to go to the room where the caterers are for a few minutes because there are a few fans coming back here and I have to stay a mystery. It's kinda fun, running around and just watching people like freak out. And then when they meet Hil they get to see how cool and down to Earth she is. But, any way, earlier today Hil had to do voice over work for the movie "A Perfect Man". This is to make some words louder if she was talking to low while they were filming on the set. But other than that today was pretty laid back. Well, that is all for now. I will have more tomorrow...

~* Christina's Road Report: We are finally in Ottawa!!   Jan. 19, 2005 *~

  (For January 19th, titled: We are FINALLY in Ottawa!!!) What I mean by finally is...that we had to wait in an airport for 4 hours. There was a snow storm here in Canada while we were all in D.C. Yesterday Hil performed at the Bush Inauguration, which went great for Hil. Any way, we left this morning to get on a private jet and fly from Washington to Ottawa. But we could not get off the ground because of the snow storm here in Canada. We were all going out of our minds with boredom!! I mean, we had fun for the first hour and a half. We were playing little games like if someone was resting there head on their hand, we would push their hand so their head would fall. That was mean but funny. We didn't do it hard. THEN!!! We were able to board the plane and the flight was only supposed to take about 1 hour. But, then WE COULD NOT LAND for another hour!!! The pilot said that the road was slick and he wanted to find a better place to land. I have never heard that before!! Well, we are here in Ottawa and Hil is on stage. I am back stage with the crew. I am sorry for not writing. I seems that I not only am going to do the Road Report but I will help with assisting any of the managers that need it. Which is pretty cool too. But of course this is my priority. So dont worry. Well that is all for today. Til tomorrow......

Amid the preteens squealing to the beat at Tuesday’s “America’s Future Rocks Today” concert were 16 military family members invited by pop singer Hilary Duff.The pre-inaugural event, featuring a constellation of pop stars and a visit by President Bush, was a flashy break for children whose parents have been deployed six to nine months each year since 9/11, said Patricia Driscoll, president of the Armed Forces Foundation, which helped arrange for the concert tickets and meet-and-greet session. Duff typically invites 50 to 100 military family members to her concerts because she wants to help troops and encourage their families. “I think that it was something that we wanted to do to give back,” she said Monday. Pop star and actor Hilary Duff was given a plaque on Friday 15th by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind for her gift of $50,000. Part of her donation went to fund toy-lending libraries in the CNIB's Toronto and Hamilton offices, which provide educational tools and toys for visually impaired kids. Duff, 17, represents the children's charity Kids With a Cause. Yesterday's ceremony took place at the CNIB's national headquarters as part of Duff's month-long tour across Canada.

OTTAWA -- Forget the hallucinogens that used to fuel concerts in the 1960s and '70s. Combine the ear-splitting screams of 13,200 young, mostly female fans, the vertigo-inducing effect of all their tiny hands waving neon glow sticks with a marketing machine that would turn even the most high-income parent's stomach -- $60 sweatshirts? Vendors selling merchandise throughout the show? -- and you have the weirdly intoxicating Hilary Duff effect.

The squeaky-clean 17-year-old singer/actress/businesswoman extraordinaire swept into Ottawa to play the first of two Corel Centre shows (last night's was sold out; there are still 2,000 tickets available for Wednesday).

Duff's concert, at about 70 minutes, was an easy-listening treat for her fans, most who went berserk when the songstress turned to some of her more popular pop pieces such as Why Not and So Yesterday. [MORE?]

There were smiling and there were crying teenagers Saturday morning at Bayshore Shopping Centre.
Popstar Hilary Duff was at the mall for an autograph session. Officials had said fans wouldn’t be permitted on mall property until after 5:30 a.m. However, doors opened earlier than that, allowing about 300 lucky Duff fans to get a glimpse of their idol.Many of the teens and parents who were allowed into the signing say the wait was worth it. However, many of the hundreds that didn’t get in say they were left disappointed.Ottawa police were called to the mall for 'crowd control' but no major incidents were reported.

Duff - who at the ripe age of 17 has conquered film, TV, music and fashion - has been leaving a trail of shrieking, starstruck young girls in her perfectly manicured path since Jan. 4, the start of the Canadian leg of her tour. So far she's strutted her sonic stuff - not to be confused with Stuff, her clothing label sold at Zellers - for fans in Kelowna, B.C., Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
Part of the proceeds from her tour are going to tsunami aid. "I get to have a voice," said the Houston-born singer of her charity work. "It makes you feel good as a person." [More].

Jane Stevenson of the Toronto Sun was on hand for Hilary Duff's concert at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Thursday night (January 13). Seventeen-year-old Hilary Duff won't be legal until September 28th, but the teen queen tells J-14 that her responsibilities as a singer and actress make her feel like she's an adult. She just wishes her mother would agree. "She gets a little worried that she gives me so much freedom," Duff explained. "It's kind of a security issue. And there's one thing she does that drives me crazy. We'll be at a restaurant and when I was younger she'd say to the waiter, 'Oh Hilary will have the chicken fingers.' She still does that! And I'm like, 'I'm 17, I can order myself!'"

ABC's Rollercoaster spoke with Hilary Duff in a Q&A and asked the teen queen who she looks up to and who gives her ideas and inspiration. "I've never looked up to anyone in the business like 'Oh, I want to be just like them'," Duff responded. "There's definitely people I respect and that I think are really cool. But I've always looked up to my sister [Haylie Duff]. She's three years older than me and we're like best friends. She's never done anything totally outlandish and we've always been really close to my parents and she's just been a really good role model for me to look up to. Hilary Duff visited MuchMusic for the music channel's special program for the teen queen. Host Devon Soltendieck asked Duff if she cares what the critics have to say about her work. "I don't listen because I don't think I care," Duff said of her critics. "And you know what's horrible is most of the time-- like say some people here like some of the movies that I've been in or something. A 60-year-old man who goes to my movie that's the critic isn't going to like it like you guys like it. So that's why you read bad reviews and stuff, and I've learned to understand that and I don't really care anymore. Well, it's alittle warmer in Toronto. We are not longer in negative degree weather. It is about 20 degrees but it feels alot colder than that. So, today Hil wanted to go see the finished product and also see how the kids liked it. I had never been inside of a school like that so it was very new to me. When we walked in it was so awesome. The new toy room was great. They had all kinds of toys that had different textures and shapes. The kids were really great. We spent all afternoon at the school. When Hilary got hungry we headed back to the hotel and had lunch. After lunch, we went over to sound check at the Air Canada Centre for tonights concert, which is where we are now. That was it for today, there were no press schedules; that I know of. Well til next time...

During the pop culture icon’s Live@Much visit yesterday, Duff, 17, said she will share the spotlight with her sister Haylie, 19, when they appear together on the big screen for the first time in the upcoming teen comedy Material Girls. “My sister and I are going to be filming a movie together. But in the teen drama "Raise Your Voice," her character goes through that and more in her quest to follow her dream of being a singer. Hilary was approached for the starring role in "Raise Your Voice" before she cut her first album and after she finished her "Lizzie McGuire" movie. In "Raise Your Voice," she plays Terri.[more]

Avril turned up for a sound check before a concert in Tacoma and was livid when told she'd have to wait - because Hilary Duff was scheduled ahead of her. Avril wailed that she wanted to "get the ##$%** out of here and see the city!" But Hilary came up behind her and said, "It's cool - you can go first." Avril whirled and gave Hilary a thankful hug.

~* Christina's Road Report : Hey!! We are on our way to Kitchener, Ontario!!!    1/11/2005 *~

Sorry about not updating. I don't know if it is my lap top or the system that is not allowing me to update the reports. Well anyway, this weekend was pretty laid back. On Saturday, the concert in Saskatoon was great. Hilary had yet another great performance. After the concert we hopped on the bus and headed out to Winnipeg. We arrived pretty late so we checked into the hotel and tried to sleep as much as possible. Sunday was Hilary's day off and she wanted to get out and do something. So, we headed to the movies to see 'White Noise'. I am not that big a fan of scary movies so I quietly went along but tried to keep my eyes closed as much as possible. It was sooo funny because after the movie everyone kept making the static sound from the movie with their mouths trying to scare me. After that we went to the mall and Hil bought a few things. Can you believe we saw a guy with shorts on in -20 degree weather at the mall!? I was cold for him!Yesterday, Monday, was Hilary's concert in Winnipeg. Before the concert Hilary had 2 interviews. One with Seventeen Magazine and the other with YTV along with 65 fans. Needless to say, the concert was a blast. Right now we are the plane to Kitchener. Tomorrow is another day off. I wonder what Hilary's plans are for tomorrow, because a new city for us means more shopping for Hil! Well, I will report tomorrow with more...

~* Christina's Road Report : We are in Kitchener!!!   1/12/2005 *~

We are in Kitchener and there is no concert scheduled for tonight but Hilary has had a full promotion day. This morning we were able to sleep in and not really have to get up until about 11am. At 12pm Hilary had to go into hair and make-up because she had interviews all day. At 2pm, she had an interview for E Talk Daily and Canada AM at the hotel. Hil, also had interviews with the Toronto Sun and the Global Television Network. There was only a ten minute break before she had to leave the hotel and head over to the Much Music studios. Then at 5pm her last interview was with CHUM FM. Right now we are in the truck on our way to EAT! I am starved and so is Hilary. Even though Hilary's interviews were from 2-6pm, everything is crazy because she has to go here, go there, smile here. But, during all the commotion she always stays so excited and positive. I havent done half of what Hil has done today and I want to go to bed!;O) Well, other than that nothing too extravagant has happened... So til tomorrow.
