McCall Clark -- Emma the Sharpette

If you've seen HSM, you've seen McCall.  Miss Clark plays Emma, the blonde "Sharpette" in High School Musical 2.  Her most notable performance was during Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel's song "Fabulous," in which Sharpay asked Emma "Where is my pink Prada tote?"  Did you also know that McCall is a rising celebrity that should be taken note of?  She can next be seen in "The Adventures of Food Boy" a movie starring McCall's HSM2 costar Lucas Grabeel, and in a lead role as Avery in the upcoming movie "Gravity Matters."  McCall will also be releasing an album in 2007!!  Even though McCall is a busy girl, she was nice enough to take a few minutes out of her schedule to talk with me about her role in High School Musical 2.  Below, you will find my interview with McCall, which is EXCLUSIVE to the Wildcats Website!!  Keep your eye out for this multi-talented and incredibly sweet actress and singer!

1) High School Musical started as a small made-for-tv movie and has grown into a $100 Million + franchise. What is it like being a part of something so big?
Being apart of something as amazing and as huge as high school musical was the most incredible experience of my life! And knowing that it’s fame will allow me to share it with so many millions of people is completely overwhelming!

2) What was it like working on High School Musical 2?
it was like one big party the whole time!!! It was sooo much fun!! It never felt like work! It was like we just gotta play and have fun with friends all day every day for 9 weeks!

3) Ashley, Lucas, Zac, Vanessa, Corbin and Monique have all become huge stars. Were there a lot of egos on set or did everyone get along?       no way! This group of kids are the nicest sweetest kids you will ever meet! Seriously they’re all like my family now. Plus the chemistry you see in the movie, you can’t fake… we really were all best friends from day one!

4) What is your favorite memory of working on High School Musical 2?
When we filmed Humu Humu it was literally 35 degrees outside!! It was so cold we all had full length parkas and slippers on between every take! Kenny would come over the mic and describe this beautiful, hawiian, warm summer beach with a light breeze, palm trees and pina coladas. Then Lucas would scream “ BALMY!”, and we’d drop our parkas, kick off our slippers, and go out on stage barefoot in strapless dresses and leighs!

5) What was your favorite scene to film in hsm2?
If not Humu Humu (which by the way is on the bonus dvd track), it was “Fabubuls”. Any time that the other sharpettes and I did a scene with just ashley and lucas it was so much fun!! It would only bring us closer and allow us to develop the great relationships we have now!

6) Do you have any upcoming projects in the works?
I just barley finished another movie with Lucas called, “The Adventures of Food Boy” that’s set to come out next summer.. I’ll definitely keep you updated and let me know how you guys like “food boy”!

7) There are a lot of rumors circulating about whether or not there will be a High School Musical 3? Do you have any inside info?
All I can say is that if there is gonna be a third one, you will know soon enough!:)

8) Out of Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Lucas, Corbin, and Monique who was the most fun to work with? Who was the most talented? Who was your favorite?
Well, I spent the most time with Ashley and Lucas. Me and Ashley became BEST friends on set! We’re like sisters now. And her and Lucas are so unbelieveably talented that I learned so much from them! Me and Lucas became even closer on “food boy” and he’s the greatest guy ever! You can’t find someone more dedicated or someone as sweet and understanding as Lucas.
As far as the most talented – it’s like you said before, they’re all HUGE stars now! The kind of fame they have doesn’t come without the extraordinary talent that all of them have! They’re all extremely talented!!

9) Kenny Ortega is a legend. What was it like working with such a profound director?
OMG, I can’t even begin to explain how incredible Kenny Ortega is! He shines through every step, line, even movement of this movie! He was the glue that held us all together! He pushed us in a way that we could’ve never pushed ourselves! He truly brought the best out in every single one of us anytime he was around. He’s the reason this movie is such a success!

10) Even though HSM2 just debuted a few days ago, its new stars are already becoming fan favorites. Do you have anything to say to your fans?
Thank you for all your support! The more you guys like the sharpette “Emma” the more you’ll see of me. So if you like what you guys saw in HSM2 please let me know! You can add me on Facebook or go to www.mccallclark.com to find out more. I would love to talk to all of you! Again thanx so much for everything! And always stay “Fabulus!”
