HETHERINGTON GLADE

We would love to introduce you to the ladies! All of which have distinct personalities - ranging from the Matriarch Savannah to the demure and adorable Scarlet; from the maternal Shevette to the inquisitive and playful Celeste; the enchanting Isla to the quiet and unassuming Shiann...and so on!

At Hetherington, we have a wide range of cattle, starting with our original B grade (3/4 highland) heifer Isla. She is currently incalf to Bannock, along with Shiann (A grade, 7/8ths highland) both due around September 2006.  However most of the calves being born on the property from now on are ranging from P1 upwards.

Recently we have been fortunate enough to acquire some gorgeous exotic coloured Highland ladies. Gabriella is what we call a silver dunn, she has a gorgeous coat, and we hope that oneday we will get a dunn heifer out of her. Cream however we are most proud of - she is white - and proudly bred by our good friends at Tigh Mor Hill Country Highlands. She is an absolute delight, who has been shown and socialised significantly by the Morisons. We are so incredibly lucky to have been allowed the honour of owning her - and we look forward to what she may produce for us in the future.

Within the Highland Cattle breed their are six standard colours - white, yellow, dun, red, brindle, black - out of these you can imagine the variant of colours in between! While most of the ladies here are varying in the red range, we are fortunate to have two dun heifers that we are incredibly excited to breed from in the future.
