Herefordshire Horsewatch is about the security of horses and equipment. We depend on you, to depend on us, to provide the police with the help they need to fight theft of horses, and the constant ‘magpie’ thefts of equine equipment.
We work in association with West Mercia Constabulary and are part of the national Horsewatch scheme covering the majority of police forces in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
What we see, hear or suspect, together with up to date security measures, are the only weapons we have with which to beat criminals, and enable the return of stolen property to its distressed owner.
It is a fact that if each horse owner were to join Horse Watch, the effect would be dramatic. Effective intelligence and security measures could stamp out this growing criminal activity.
Can any of us truthfully say that our £5 annual subscription is not a worthwhile and vital contribution to the battle? Members regularly work voluntarily on your behalf using their own money and resources. We need your help to fight for the safety of your horses and equipment.
By joining Horsewatch you will receive regular newsletters and will be alerted as soon as possible via the internet of equine crime across Britain. If your horse, tack or trailer is stolen Horsewatch members everywhere will be alerted. The more members Horsewatch has the better the information can be spread.
Membership is just £5 a year per person, irrespective of the number of horses owned. It goes to helping with the administration costs and towards tack marking, micro chipping sessions etc. Horsewatch is hoping to mount fund raising events, guided rides, tack and freeze marking sessions and opportunities for micro chipping. Further information will be published to members about them.

Herefordshire Horse Watch is extremely keen to assist Hampshire and Thames Valley Police Forces in setting a national internet communication structure, with its own web site. Combined Branch National meetings are underpinning this exciting new concept
