Hen House is an independent zine distro that started December 2007 in Montevallo, Alabama. Aside from this online store, I table zines, buttons, and patches at shows and zinefests across the Southeast. You can add Hen House as a friend on Myspace in order to get updates about where I'll be tabling next.

Because I've only just started out with this project the stock of zines I have is thin, and I am always accepting submissions for distribution consideration. I pay upfront for any zines, buttons, or patches that I accept. Look at the submit page to find out more.

I started Hen House Distro with community in mind. There are no other zine distros in Alabama. In Zine directories I would find Oregon over and over. I wanted to find all of the southern zines I could and help them reach as many people as possible. Since I started in December I've had several people email me asking about DIY spaces in the South. At first I didn't know the answers to these questions either, but I searched and found things I never even knew or would know existed had I not been looking for them.

So, one of my main goals is to make this website not only a store, but a dynamic resource for Southern DIY projects and DIY spaces (e.g. where to find independent venues, bookstores, zine libraries, zine workshops, infoshops, etc.). I will accept zines and other things from anywhere in the world, but I'm especially interested in southern zines.
