Brightwells Spring Sale 2007

A group of friends and I went to the spring sales. I had hoped to pass my Lorry driving test before hand but it wasn't to happen, so very kindly the lovely Linda said she would accompany me, along with two other horsey friends. We had planned to just go for the experience and just as we were about to leave, my father had told me that we didnt need any more horses so i was to come home with the lorry in the same state in which i took it! ( I tried the technically speaking they are cobs not horses line, but it failed!) We arrived at the show ground at about 2300 hours, after taking a rather long detour! When we arrived we unpacked and lit our BBQ and opened the beers etc and got settled between the rain showers. Anyway to cut to the chase when the sale started we had wandered through the stables and seen some lovely horses and ponies but i hadnt really examined any too closely as i wasn't allowed to buy. We went down to the sale ring and i then got a text from my mum saying that my dad said that if there was one i really wanted, then to go for it, so of course if i was going to buy one then it would have to be a filly to breed and ride, but Cymro came into the ring and my friend elbowed me and that was it, he was mine! He had been 'professionally backed' but he couldn't canter, and i think he had just been hacked around but he is now learning fast and will be for sale in the spring when he has done a few competitions.

Cymro Update

Cymro has come on well over the winter, he has done a lot of dressage schooling with Malcolm Brown and Alice Beesely. He is also now jumping coloured fences and fillers and jumping good clear rounds, being placed 3rd in his first proper class earlier this year. He has also been cross country schooling a few times and will jump in and out of water, over ditches and up and down steps. In general he is learning very quickly and is proving to be a very talented horse, for this reason my own mother has decided to buy him from me to compete in affiliated dressage. Unfortunatly this means i now have no more space for buying another mare.

Cymro's first time on a cross country course!

What a brave boy!

I am a good boy!
