We are a married couple, in our 30's, who have devoted ourselves to helping troubled teens and abused children find hope and healing. My husband, Louis, primarily works with adolescents who come from broken homes, have been abused, or have been involved in gangs or criminal activity. He helps them make better choices and transition to adulthood. I, Marie, work with children who have been neglected, physically abused and/or sexually abused. I also teach parenting classes to parents accused of child abuse. Although we have "parented" so many children (and their parents), we want to have our own child, but face fertility problems.
We have been trying to have a baby naturally for almost 5 years. After visiting many doctors, we have been told the only way for us to have our own child is to have In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to get pregnant. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) involves a specialized doctor joining my eggs and my husband's sperm in a lab, and then placing the fertilized egg back into my womb - resulting in a pregnancy. IVF is not covered by health insurance and it is very expensive. The basic cost for IVF ranges from $15,000 to $25,000. We are trying to raise money to afford IVF through ebay sales and donations. We would greatly appreciate your help.
