New to Social / Family Nudism

If you were typically raised within a judgemental, body shaming culture or if you're among the 80% of North Americans who have not yet experienced the joys of skinny-dipping or sun tanning in the nude, then even the thought of social nudity may stir strong feelings and induce strange images much different from the truly relaxing nature of the experience.  Some nervousness is common for almost everyone before taking the first plunge, but after an hour or so all is just fine!

Social nudity is initially about improving a life long relationship with one's own unique body.

Simple "body acceptance" is the healthy, wholesome unifying theme.

Besides being personally liberating, experiencing social nudity is also both humanizing and equalizing.  Without clothes, people tend to except one another as the special sometimes fragile being each truly is.

Nude recreation is surprisingly relaxing and uniquely freeing, as millions in Europe, North America and elsewhere have discovered.  It may also be the ultimate experience of self acceptance.

Though nobody's "perfect", we are all perfectly human and quite acceptable just as we really are.  A life time of ingrained self-consciousness can sometimes evaporate in minutes at Helios.  Of course, you do not have to take just our word for it.  Here is a very good article written by Cheri Alexander called "So your partner is interested in nudism".  Most of us use Helios as an anytime getaway from everyday stress, a place to play or unwind, however it pleases at the moment.  It is also a wonderful place to meet new and old friends.
