This book is based on a true story of what can happen when a person is unaware that evil may be lurking in their church. When the family goes off to meet the new pastor at their beloved Methodist church, no one fathoms that their lives would be turned upside down and the word "survivor" would take on a new meaning.
The story was written so that others will be aware of the signs to recognize a predator and learn where to go for help. Even more importantly, it tells where not to go for help. When those in authority roles abuse the power that they hold over a person, the pain is magnified. When church administrators refuse to help and use information they gather from a person against them, the pain is heightened, as they are again victimized.
My co-author, Curt Szajnecki and I hope to shed light on the dark corners of a place where unsuspecting people go for spiritual guidance and come away spiritually abused.
