Harriers started off slowly but soon got into the game with some good chances from Ty Price and Brad, and could have easily been 2 - 0 up at half time. Harriers had a good start to the 2nd half with some good early chances coming from Ty Price who had an excellent game. Brownhill Community Colts had a couple of chances on goal but were stopped by some great defending from Oliver Butler and some good saves by Harry Clark the goalkeeper. Harriers luck changed 4 mins from time when a low ball into the box was deflected off Ty Price into the net. Overall a super game and a well deserved win to make it 1 - 0 to Harriers.

PRD Utd  1 - 0  Hednesford Harriers
Excellent start to the 2nd game for the Harriers who had loads of possession in the 1st half. harriers could of easily been 2-0 up in the 1st 5 mins with some good efforts coming from Harry Mills and Ty Price. They started the second half with an excellent through ball coming from Ryan Ingram to Ty Price who passed to Brad, who hit he ball low towards the bottom corner of the goal, only for PRD Utd goalkeeper to make another excellent save. Willenhall  1 - 0  Hednesford Town
Town started the game brightly and pressured Willenhall from the off. They were looking good and had most of the possession and were testing the Willenhall keeper at every opportunity. With Town keeping the pressure on Matt Dyke was unlucky when he turned and crashed a shot against the post. The second half was much the same as the first and Matt Dyke again hit the woodwork this time the bar from a corner. With the pressure all one way Willenhall broke away and after a goal line scramble the ball was alleged to have crossed the line. Town could not get the goal they needed and somehow lost the three points with the Willenhall keeper playing exceptionally well.

Hednesford  1 - 0  Brewood
Again Town started the better of the two but could not break down a determined Brewood side. Town were dominant in midfield and tried to drive into the Brewood area at every opportunity. The scores however remained level until a few minutes into the second half when Cody Lyons picked up the ball near the half line and went pasted two Brewood players before firing past the keeper into the net. Town then went for the second goal but had to settle for a fine one nil victory.

Great Barr Harriers 0 - 0 Hednesford Harriers
A very hard fought battle for the harriers was the outcome of Sunday's first game, Hednesford had a shaky start but defended and passed well. In the first half we created a few good chances and were unlucky not to take the lead. The second half continued the same and Hednesford goalkeeper Harry had to pull of an outstanding save to keep the game level.

Shire Oak Shadows 1 - 0 Hednesford Harriers
A real test of determination for the harriers in this game sadly ended with a loss. The boys battled for each half consistently for the duration of the game in very blustery conditions but Shire Oak pressed through the middle with determination and were fortunate to collect a lucky goal in the last 5 min. Harriers pushed for an equaliser all the way to the whistle but to no avail.

Hednesford Harriers 3 - 2 Wednesbury SU
A battling performance, hard work, and good concentration proved to be the key to this win. With some excellent defending from Ty and Cradd in the early stages and two excellent saves from Harry prevented a tough Wednesbury team from scoring, Jordan and Rhino commanded the wings and Brad in his first game for the harriers controlled the midfield with energy and determination. Good crossing from both wings created several good chances, Millsy made sure he put one away. A great goal from a corner from Jordan helped harriers go in at half time 2-1 up. Wednesbury levelled early on in the second and harriers cleared of the line from a wednesbury corner before Millsy latched onto a through ball from the right to steal the game. Overall performance of the season so far for the harriers.

Hednesford Harriers 1 - 1 Bustleholme United
Harriers gave there all in this game, in the first half they pressurised Bustleholme

The breakthrough came towards the end of the first half when Rhino shot from the outside of the box to make it 1-0. Harriers fought hard in the second half with every player making a contribution however Bustleholme equalised with 2 minutes to go. A draw was a fair result.

Hednesford Town  0  v  1  Wyrley Tigers
Town had not played for 3 week and it showed as Wyrley took the game to Hednesford in the top of the table clash. Town never really got going and were lucky not to concede in the first half. The second half was much the same with Wyrley pressing. Town were defending well but a poor hand ball decision gave Wylry and free kick on the edge of the box. The Wyrley player then curled the ball into the top corner to give Wyrley the three points they deserved on the day.

Hednesford Town  2  v  0  Shire Oak Gunners

Pelsall Villa  0 - 1 Hednesford Town

After a two month lay off Town started the game a little rusty and Pelsall had better of the opening 10 minutes with most of the play caught up in a hard midfield battle. Although Town had started slowly Pelsall were restricted to only a few half chances with Tom MacKenzie looking comfortable and assured in goal. At half time Town changed things round with Tanaka Katsukunya making his debut in a Town shirt. Town started to get going and look a lot more dangerous and when Jack Weldon played a ball into Tanaka he ran through on goal and finished with a fine powerful shot. Town were now looking dangerous and were unlucky not to increase their lead when Tanaka out muscled the Pelsall defender and went through and hit the post. It was a good three points for Town in a hard fought game against a good Pelsall team.

Hednesford Town 2 - 1 Tipton Town

Town started the game brightly and were the better team throughout. Matt Dyke opened the scoring for Town with a fine finish from an acute angle after a good run down the right. Right on the half time whistle Tipton equalised after a goal mouth scramble when Town didn't clear the ball from a Tipton corner. Town were again the better side and took all three points with about 4 minutes to go when Jamie Weldon made a good run down the right and crossed the ball for Jack Weldon to run in and finish with a fine left foot drive.

Hednesford Town Harriers 3 - 0 Wednesfield Boys
1st Half: Harriers started off playing exceptionally well. Harriers had most of the possession of the ball during the 1st half. A great pass from Ryan Craddock to Ryan Ingram to make it 1 - 0. They all worked well as a team with them passing to each other. All in all a fantastic 1st half.
2nd Half: As with the 1st half the Harriers kept their pace. A few minutes in Jordan Corrigan made a great goal making it 2 - 0. Harry Mills tried again for another goal but unfortunately Wednesfield Boys goalie made a save, unlucky. Great pass from Ryan Ingram across to Harry Mills to make it another goal 3 - 0. All in all a fantastic game.

Hednesford Town Harriers 0 - 2 Sporting Khalsa
1st Half: This time Sporting Khalsa seemed to have more possession of the ball but Oliver Butler kept the back strong with his defending. Unfortunately Ryan Craddock made a penalty making it 0 - 1 to Sporting Khalsa, then shortly after they scored again making it 0 - 2. All in all for the 1st half Harriers have got to play the 2nd half a bit stronger.
2nd Half: Harriers picked up their speed and started to play better with the same great passing throughout the 2nd half. There was a couple of near chances but we never quite made it and with some great defending at the back again. All in all they played alot better and deserved a draw.

Town started slowly and looked a bit slugish in the first half. They were punished for not reacting to a short corner from Pelsall towards the end of the half when the Pelsall player finished with a great shot from the corner. The second half was a much better performance with Town camped in the Pelsall half of the pitch. After several close misses and skirmishes in the box Town finally got the equaliser they deserved when with a minute to go Jack Weldon scored directly from a corner

Hednesford Town Harriers 1 – 0 Bustleholme Utd
A great start for Harriers in the 1st half with them having most of the possession. Ryan Ingram went close by hitting the post and Harry Mills made a great effort only for Bustleholme Utd’s goalkeeper to make an excellent save. Bustleholme Utd had some good chances, but Harry Clark made some great saves too. Harriers started well again in the 2nd half with a good early chance from Ryan Ingrams cross into the box, which Harry Mills latched onto but went wide of the post. A good pass from Oliver Butler to Jordan Corrigan who then passed a good through ball to Harry Mills who planted it into the bottom right hand corner of the net, a fantastic goal. Oliver Butler and Ryan Craddock played well at the back together again and Harry Clark the goalkeeper played well too. An all round fantastic game by Harriers with lots of possession.

Hednesford Town Harriers 0 – 5 Wednesbury SU
Harriers started slowly in the 1st half. Wednesbury SU pushed forward quickly and had some efforts on goal, only for the goalkeeper Harry Clark to make some great saves. Harriers struggled to go forward with some scrappy football and then Wednesbury SU had two more chances and took both of them to make it 0 -2 at half time. Harriers started better 2nd half, but unfortunately Wednesbury scored again to make it 0 - 3 with a great shot from outside the box. Harriers had some good long range efforts in the 2nd half, but just went wide of the goal. Harriers really couldn’t get a foothold in the game in the 2nd half. Unfortunately Wednesbury SU went on to score 2 more goals to make it 0 - 5. Overall Harriers didn’t play as well as their 1st match but still showed plenty effort and commitment.

(Hednesford won 2-1 on pens)
Town started the game well and took the lead after 5 minutes with Alex Hackett firing into the corner of the net. Sharks had little of the play but broke towards the end of the 1st half with their forward firing wide. Town still looked comfortable but could not finish their chances and Bloxwich got the equaliser midway through the 2nd half. With the game going to extra time Town could not make their pressure show and so it went to a penalty shoot out-
Bloxwich went first and the 1st penalty was hit high and wide. Jack Weldon made it 1 - 0 to Town then Bloxwich equalised.  Jamie Weldon hit Town's second penalty against the bar and the third Bloxwich player hit a weak panalty which Tom Mackenzie saved with ease. Captain for the match Frank Lee scored the winning penalty to send Town through.

In the second half Town pushed but again could not find the equalser. A Jamie Weldon free kick summed up the game when the referee did not give the goal when the ball looked clearly over the line. Town were still at ease and after good work down the left by Jack Weldon the ball fell for Frank Lee just inside the area to fire home with a fine strike into the top of the net. In the second half Town made it three when Alex Hackett picked the ball up from a Willenhall corner and ran the nearly the full length of the pitch out pacing 2 defenders before firing past the keeper. Hednesford Town 0 - 0  Beechdale

Town started slowly in the match and the first half was very much an even event. The second half began with Beechdale getting on top, and they were the better side throughout the second period. Beechdale continued to press and had chances to get the winner. However Town hung on in a game where they never really produced to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Wednesfield 0 - 3  Hednesford Town

A much better performance from Hednesford in their second game against a Wednesfield team who started brightly. Tom MacKenzie produced a couple of tremendous close range stops to keep the scores level within the first five minutes. After that Town moved up a gear and played their best 15 minutes of football this season. Manager's Comments:-

The seasons really start from next week so let’s hope the boys can carry their form through into the league games.

Town's performance against Wednesfield was probably the best display we have ever seen the boys produce after a lackluster first game where we were lucky not to get beat. However it’s 8 games unbeaten and that’s credit to the boys.

With the Harriers, they came up against a Brewood team that are flying at the moment. We have no doubts that we will more than hold our own in the league and we have taken the round robin games as a learning period for what is still a new team.

We are confident that both teams will do well and look forward to the Parents continued support towards all the boys.

Town continued to press and never really looked in too much danger at the back and kept another clean sheet.

A good weekend’s football for both teams. Harriers took their first point of the round robins and their continued improvement showed with two draws.

Town started well and produced some great attacking football and it was no surprise when Alex Hackett opening the scoring just before half time. Town again dominated the second half with Frank Lee hitting the post and Jack Weldon the bar. Town could well have been 4 or 5 up before Matt Dyke finished the game with a neat finish at the far post.

Hednesford Town  1  v 0 Wednesfield
Town again started brightly and Matt Dyke finished from out wide to open the scoring mid way through the first half. With all the lads playing well they could have gone on to increase the lead with several chances created. The passing was superb and it was probably the best display we have seen from the lads as a team with everyone starting to gel.

Managers Comments:-

Hednesford Town Harriers
The lads and supporters need to keep their heads up. The lads tried to play football, never gave up, and scored in each game. The lads are improving each week and once they get used to each other will improve even more. The second half against Lane Head we could easily have had another 2 goals. Conor is a goal threat, Jordan got forward well, and it looks like we've found Oli's best position - alot of positives out of this weeks games.

Hednesford Town
Probably the best we have played as a team. We started well, took the game to them, and played at times some great football. Really pleased with the passing at times and the team looks full of goals.

Wednesfield  1 v 1 Hednesford Town
Hednesford started brightly and could have taken the lead within 30 seconds. Town continued to press and looked the better team throughout the half until Wednesfield broke and Tom MacKenzie stopped a powerful shot and Jack Weldon cleared off the line. Town took the lead after 4 minutes of the second half when a good through ball by Jack was latched onto by Matt Dyke who slotted past the keeper. Town looked comfortable until 3 minutes to go they conceded a corner and sloppy marking led to Wednesfields equaliser.
Goals - Matt (1)

Beechdale  1 v 2 Hednesford Town
Beechdale started the quickest and immediately put Town under pressure and it was no surprise when they took the lead. Again sloppy marking from a corner was met by a good finish from the Beechdale forward. Hednesford got better has the game went on a just before half time Matt Dyke produced a wonderful powering header at the far post from a Jack Weldon corner. The second half Hednesford pressed and Jack Weldon broke down the left and finished past the Beechdale keeper.
Goals - Matt (1) Jack (1)

A good start to the first week of round robins.

Silverdale  1 v 0 Hednesford Town Harriers
The Harriers went into their first ever competitive game with only 6 players due to injuries and holidays and produced a stunning performance. Harriers were easily on par with Silverdale and had 3 or 4 chances to take lead and only a good performance from the Silverdale keeper kept the scores level. Captain, Ryan Ingram ran himself into the ground to try and lead his team on & with Harry Clarke in fine form in goal & the defence marshaled by Ryan Craddock the Harriers looked good for at least a point. Conor Brown caused no end of problems for their defence and Jordan Corrigan and Oli Butler tied up the midfield. Silverdale scored the winner half way through the second half but the lads can feel proud of their exceptional performances.

Hednesford Town Harriers  0 v 7  Lane Head Raiders
The Harriers came up against a strong Lane Head side again with only 6 players in this friendly. The Harriers who had put their all into the previous game never gave up and kept battling till the final whistle. Again Harry Clarke pulled off some tremendous saves and Ryan Craddock was again outstanding at the back.

Pre-Season Friendlies
5th September 2007

Lichfield City  2 v 0  Hednesford Town Harriers
Harriers first pre-season friendly was a good work out for the lads and also the opportunity to give a couple of trialists a game. Hednesford started the brighter and looked comfortable playing some good attacking football. City took the lead after 15 mins when a good shot took an awkward bounce and beat Harry in goal. Hednesford chopped and changed to give all the lads a run in different positions and fell behind to a second just before half time. Harriers battled throughout the second half and there were good performances by all the lads.
A good start for the 1st friendly and many thanks to Lichfield for their hospitality.

Chasetown Scholars   0 v 0  Hednesford Town
Again the first friendly of the season saw a slow start from Hednesford against a really good Chasetown team. Hednesford had to battle to stay in the game and looked a little rusty to start with. The team got better as the game went on and looked a lot better organised in the 3rd period as they started to feel their feet again. A good workout for the boys and a good result for the first game of the season.
Many thanks to the hosts Chasetown.

Lane Head Tournament
Sunday July 15th
Hednesford bow out in semi-final

Norton Canes 2 Hednesford 2
Hednesford started slowly and were behind after just 2 minutes. A mix up at the back left the Norton forward with a clear opening and he slotted the ball home. Hednesford then replied straight from the kick off with Matt Dyke beating 3 defenders before crossing for Conor Brown to side foot into the net. Norton regained the lead within muntes but Hednesford's pressure paid off when Crad (ryan craddock) scored with a terrific shot when the ball came out from a corner.

Hednesford 4 Shire Oak 0
Hednesford took control of the game early on and were by far the best of the two teams. Cody Lyons scored the first coming in at the far post. Jack Weldon got the second and a own goal from a corner put Hednesford well on top. Jack got his second with a long drive to rap up a convincing win.

Lane Head 0 Hednesford 0
This was a really hard fought game in terrible conditions with the rain continually lashing down. Both teams battled really well and a draw was a fair result in for the conditions was a good game of football.

Hednesford 0 Pelsall Villa 0 ( 4 - 5 after penalties )
Hednesford got knocked out of the semi finals losing in sudden death on penalties. Hednesford took the game to Pelsall and were the better team during the 15 minutes of normal time but could not quite get the goal which they deserved despite several chances and continued pressure. Credit to both teams for a really good semi final.

A special praise goes to our new keeper Harry who for his first ever competitive games
was superb and we wish him every success

Bustleholme Summer Soccer Tournament
Saturday June 9th
Lads unlucky to lose in final

Hednesford Town Under 7's entered two teams in the Bustleholme Summer Soccer Tournament on Saturday June 9.

Team 1 entered as Hednesford Town had some great performance but unfortunately lost their last group game and didn't make the final. Team 2 entered as Hednesford Pitmen and won their group stages winning all 4 games, scoring 19 goals without conceding.

The Pitmen then played hosts Bustleholme in the semi-final and came away winners 1-0. In the final the Pitmen played Bush Juniors and looked comfortable taking a 1-0 lead. However Bush came back and at 2-2 it looked like extra time. However with a minute left Bush got the winner to lift the cup 3-2 in what was a great final.
