Hednesford Town   3    v    1    Wednesfield
Hednesford were crowned Walsall Junior Youth League Champions with a convincing win against a strong Wednesfield side on Friday 16th at Rushall Olympic. After a storming 6-0 performance in the semi final against Bustleholme, Town continued their form in the final and took the game to Wednesfield. It was not long before Mitchel Candlin broke the deadlock with a thunderbolt of a strike. Just before half time Candlin again hit the back of the net with a brilliant shot that gave the keeper no chance. The second half was much the same and the game was over when Jack Weldon played Candlin through and he completed his hatrick by slotting past the keeper. Hednesford were strong all over the park with Tom MacKenzie assured in goal. Rhys McCleod & Jamie Weldon dominating the rear guard. The midfield of Matt Dyke, Cody Lyons, Jack Weldon & Jack Grimshaw passing & moving the ball extremely well & the fowards of Mitch Candlin & Tanaka Katsukunya a threat at all times. Wednesfield to their credit kept trying a got a consolation in the last minute. Full credit to the Hednesford players for two outstanding performances.  
 
 
Cup Semi-Final
Bustleholme    0   v    6    Hednesford Town
Hednesford dominated this cup semi final in front of a good crowd at Rushall Olympic. After the 1st five minuted Town settled and took the lead when Tanaka Katsukunya turned his defender and fired the ball home past the keeper. Despite being in charge of the game Hednesford had to wait until a couple of minuted into the second half to extend their lead when Jack Grimshaw played a nice one - two and planted the ball into the back of the net. Hednesford were now playing extremely well and were unlucky not to extend the lead further. Jack Weldon got the 3rd when he turned the fired the ball home. Matt Dyke got the next two goals with two fine finishes and Mitch Candlin finished it off blasting past the keeper from the right. Jamie weldon & Rhys McCleod marshalled the defence and Cody Lyons picked everything up in the middle of the park leaving keeper Tom MacKenzie with very little to do in a outstanding performance. 
 
 
                                            Wyrley Tigers    1   v    1     Hednesford Town                                12.10.08
Hednesford kicked off their league campaign with a tough game against a good Wyrley side. Wyrley started the brightest and were unlucky not to take the lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. However Town upped the tempo and finally got into the game and 3 minutes into the second half when Tanaka Katsukunya battled through the defence and slotted home. Hednesford pushed for a second and were caught with Wyrley getting a deserved equaliser in the dying minutes in what was a good hard fought contest.

Hednesford Town   8    v    0    Pelsall Villa  
Hednesford started the second game of the day much brighter and created chance after chance in a dominate first half without taking their chances. Matt Dyke opened the scoring with Mitchel Candlin firing home the second. The second half was much the same with a further 3 goals from Matthew Dyke, one more for Mitch Candlin and others from Jack Weldon and Tanaka Katsukunya finished the game off.

                                    Wyrley Panthers U9’s 0 v 11 Hednesford Town U9’s                     21.09.08

Hednesford won their second game of the day producing some great football with goals from Mitchel Candlin 3, Jack Weldon 3 , Tanake Katsukunya 2, Jamie Weldon, Matt Dyke and a first ever for Rhys McCleod. Full credit to the Wyrley team who kept battling to the end.

 

Beechdale Juniors U9’s 0 v 7 Hednesford Town U9’s

Hednesford started where they left off last week totally dominating the game. Matthew Dyke opened the scoring and it was not long before he had completed his hatrick. Further goals from Dyke, Jamie Weldon, Mitchel Candlin & Tanake Katsukunya completed the score for the Town

Hednesford started their campaign in fine form with a convincing win in their opening round robin game.

With just 2 minutes on the clock Mitchel Candlin fired a screamer into the back of the net. Town continued to press with further first half goals from Matthew Dyke, Jack Weldon and Tanaka Katsukunya. The second half was much the same and both Matt Dyke and Tanaka Katsukunya completing their hatricks. The passing and quality of the goals were excellent in a game totally dominated by Hednesford.

 

                                  Hednesford Town U9’s 2 v 0 Tipton Town                           14.09.08

Town were again at ease in their second game and in reality they should have sealed the win by 5 or 6 goals. Hednesford started well and kept Tipton within their own half. Jack Weldon opened the scoring with a fine run and finish. Whenever Tipton did venture forward they were met with a formidable force of the Hednesford defence in Jamie Weldon & Rhys McCleod, which meant Tom Mackenzie the Hednesford keeper did not have a shot to save. In the second half Tanaka Katsukunya battled through and forced the ball home to ensure another comfortable win for the Junior Pitmen

Harriers Match Reports

Lane Head Raiders    0    v    2    Hednesford Town Harriers                           12.10.08

A great performance against Tipton Town in the second game of the day, Tipton pressed hard in the first half but the boys battled to grind out a fantastic result. Ty Price again opened the scoring with a super finish and chances from Harry Mills, Jordan Corrigan, Conor Brown and Ryan Ingram were all stopped by good goalkeeping and great defending from Tipton. Bradley Davies completed the goal scoring for the Harriers with a great individual effort. Tipton got a goal back towards the end of the second half but again Harriers defending from Cradd and Oli was outstanding.

Tipton Town   1    v    2    Hednesford Town Harriers

A battling, hard working, gutsy performance from the boys, Harriers dominated possession and created plenty of chances in both halves. Ty Price took his chance on 7 mins to open the scoring for the Harriers with a great goal. Ryan Craddock and Oliver Butler defended with determination and the midfield passed smoothly around the pitch. Bradley Davies scored his first league goal this season with a super run and great finish to complete the scoring.

 

Shire Oak Bullets    1    v     3      Hednesford Town Harriers                      21.09.08

Harriers dominated this game from the kick off and within 5 minuites they took the lead with a super strike form Ty Price , minutes later Ty added his second from a corner and Harriers continued to press through to half time. An early goal in the second half from shire oak was soon cancelled out, when good passing through the midfield created an opportunity for Harry Mills for his first goal of the season and the Harriers 3rd.

 

Hednesford Town Harriers    0     v       2       Sporting Khalsa

Harriers worked tirelessly from the kick off and had plenty of possession in both halves of the game, Harries passed well, created chances, hit the post and the bar and forced several good saves from the Khalsa goalkeeper. Sporting Khalsa scored twice in the first half with two well taken goals.
