08/03/2008 - Hednesford Town U8's Invited to Aston Villa Academy

Hednesford Town U8’s were invited to play a series of friendly games against Aston Villa academy at their renowned Bodymoor Heath Training facilities. Eight Hednesford Town players put in a great performance against some of the finest young players in the Midlands in a series of small sided training games and then into two 8v8 matches.
Hednesford Town took an early lead in the first game and played some fine football, they were unfortunate to eventually lose the game 3 – 1. In the second game Villas superiority started to shine through and Hednesford Town battled hard to stay in the game. Villa won the game, but the lads could all hold their heads high and be satisfied by a good all round performance.  One of the Town players has been asked to attend further training with the Villa Academy.
We would like to thank everyone at Aston Villa Academy for making it such an enjoyable experience for the lads.
