(NO KILL) Stray Cat Rescue

Very Recent Rescues that God keeps helping us to find

We are CLOSED until further notice due to financial difficulties
We are not doing any more rescues for now as the economy has forced us to close.
Also adoption rates are very low right now also due to the economy.
We hope to do rescues in the future but that could be a long way off for us.
We are sorry we cannot continue on but right now we must concentrate on helping
the many cats we still have left here at our rescue and try to get them adopted out in good forever homes!
We thank all of you for your help and understanding through this difficult time period.

We got a call today, 06/04/2008  About 6 stray kittens that were found
(ALL OF THESE KITTENS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!)
We have no updated pictures since my old cell phone broke and their pictures where in that phone!

by a wonderful lady who has been taking really good care of them!

But she couldnt keep them, she had called everywhere in town until she called Have A Heart, they are a NO KILL shelter in Marion County Florida they were full as well as everyone else is this time of year (Kitten Season) but they know us so they told us about this womens kittens, they gave the women our number and she contacted us so we met up with her in Bushnell Florida and picked up the kittys.

When we got home with them a mother cat whom we had found that was only nursing one kitten took a shine to these six little ones so here is a picture of Do dad feeding the six kittys plus one of her own.

I will post other pictures of the kitties soon & more info

Today 05/31/2008 We picked up 3 owned cats Fat Esko, Vido, & Carmine (All of these three we are keeping & not up for adoption)

Their owners new husband is allergic to them so she had to

give them to someone, she was very sad about this,

but they are all doing fine and they appear to be in perfect health,

they have had all their shots as well per their owner.

we will have them checked out by our vet.

but so far they are making new friends & they are getting along well with our other cats.

We will not be putting them up for adoption for a long while
yet as we promised their owner that if she wanted them back

we would be happy to return them to her and we always stick by our word.

Here are some pictures of them & we will be adding more pictures of them soon!

Here is a picture of Carmen with his new buddy Rascal!

Carmen is near the coffee maker but a min before I took this picture they were rubbing noses!

Of course by the time I got my cell phone out to take the

rubbing noses picture Carmen had moved!

Update On Fat Esko, Vido, & Carmine

All 3 now own the place!! They are very content, Im just the maid LOL !

I woke up Fat Esko for this picture, but he didnt mind since he's a ham for the camera!

We got a call today 05/28/08 About three stray kittens & a mother cat in Tampa.
THESE FERALS ONLY TRUST US & CANNOT BE ADOPTED OUT, THEY WILL REMAIN WITH US.

We couldn't catch the mother cat. But we took some pictures

of the kittens while we were on the way home with them,

we will post more pictures of them soon,

these are pictures of them in the carrier we picked them up in.

They are all Feral kittens, however they appear healthy, except they all have diarrhea.

A very nice lady & her neighbor were caring for them,

I only wish we had more people like these two ladies who care about animals!

These kittens will be checked out & we will add updates soon! & more pictures!

Update 06/06/2008  Here are new pictures of the kittens, & we finally managed to get the momma cat too.

Her picture is on the bottom right, We have moved them to the back room

of our house rather than keeping them in cages where

we did have them, this way they can run around & have some freedom!

This room is air conditioned  &  they have the  run of the place, with ferals its also better to have them run free in a room  so that you can try to tame them. The orange

kitten is the most curious of the 3 as you can see here in this picture

on the right top, he is trying to play in Freds tool box

which he set down only for a moment in order to fix the light fixture in the room.

These Ferals are really starting to warm up to us & they all tested Negative for any illnesses.

We got a call today 5/16/08 that someone had found this cat in a Dumpster!

He is scared to death of humans as well! No Wonder!

This is a male kitten, he is paralyzed and cannot walk we don't know why yet.

Here are more pictures of him, he is very thin and wont eat he will need to be force fed.

He is full of all kinds of parasites, also very dehydrated.

We are awaiting the Vets review of him, will post more pictures soon and updates!

Update: 5/17/08 We checked on this poor kitten this morning & found that he had died peacefully in his sleep.

We just found this cat today 04/21/08 wandering the streets of St.Petersburg,
Scrappy Doo has been Adopted!

Well barely wandering, more like just laying there panting near heavy traffic!

This cat we think is Feral & very sick, Full of Fleas & Mites

And very dehydrated! She is very skinny, starving!

I took this picture as soon as we got her home.

This Feral we named "Scrappy Doo"

She is very sweet really, even though she is very sick, we have put her on IV fluids & Antibiotics, she likes wet food & dry so far,

we will continue to monitor her through out the night!

But she has perked up some since we have been treating her.

So please everyone pray for her! Thanks...& If you would like to Email a letter to Scrappy Doo just to let her know you are praying for her I promise I will read it to her as I will be up most of the night keeping a close eye on her!

You can Email Scrappy Doo here: Hsafehavenrescue@aol.com

Update on Scrappy Doo, she is doing very well, considering her poor shape, I think she is going to make it! You can also Email messages to the other two strays we picked up via this same Email address listed above.

 UPDATE ON "Scrappy Doo" 05/03/2008

The Emails and phone calls keep pouring in for these cats!

Thanks everybody for such a response ! I never expected this!

Scrappy Doo thanks every one too!

Scrappy Doo is doing great! She is no longer on IV Fluids & she is even slightly gaining weight!

NEW PICTURES OF SCRAPPY DOO 05/03/2008

Look how much weight shes gained!

Had to hold her head still for the camera as she is camera shy!

But what a difference!

If a KILL Shelter had picked up this cat they wouldnt have even bothered with her they would have just put her down! But we dont do that here!

She is SAFE with us, and she is very happy to be alive and knows that someone took the time love and caring to help her out.

We will keep taking care of her then eventually adopt her out to a loving family.

This just shows you what a little time and effort can do to save a life!

She shows how grateful she is to us everyday!

I will also be posting new pictures of JET and BIG KID soon.

We believe that animals have angels that get them help in times of need

This cat was found with "Scrappy Doo" also, but he is not in as bad a shape, we decided to name him

"BIG Kid"
UPDATE: BIG KID HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Here is the other one we found, he is also in fair shape.
UPDATE: JET HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

This cat we named "JET" Because he is all black, both of these cats are malnorished, full of fleas, & mites.

However we will fix these problems to make them healthy again!!

They all seem to have URI's also.
