Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1: Can we bring our own drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, into the venue?
Answer: NO. There will be ample supplies of water, soft drinks, juices and alcoholic beverages available at the Bar and at the Food Outlets.
Question 2: Can we bring our own food and nibbles into the venue?
Answer: NO. There will be full cafeteria style food outlets available at the venue, serving a good selection of hot and cold meals and snacks throughout the evening. There is a possibility that some nibbles will be supplied on your tables; however that is not yet confirmed.
Question 3: Will food be on sale at the beginning of the Ball as dinner time is usually around 6.00pm?
Answer: The food outlets will be available from when the doors open at 5.00pm.
Question 4: Will we be seated near our friends from other Clubs?
Answer: Table allocations are made up of the group leaders from whom you purchased your tickets. Each group will be allocated a table dependent upon the number of tickets sold to each particular leader and the best fit for the geography of the venue.
Question 5: Will there be items for sale, such as clothing and trinkets?
Answer: Yes. More information regarding what items will be available for sale on the night will be available shortly.
Question 6: Is the venue air conditioned?
Answer: Yes.
Question 7: Can I wear whatever I like?
Answer: The theme for the Ball is black and red. It would be fabulous to see everyone dressed in either red or black or combinations of both, however there are no steadfast rules. Remember, it’s a BALL! Important note – You are not required to wear your Heart and Sole Polo shirt to the Ball – keep that for the Royal Easter Show demonstration!
Question 8: Can we bring our cameras into the venue?
Answer: Yes.
Question 9: Will a Programme of Dances be displayed on the Heart And Sole Linedance Ball Website?
Answer: No. The programme in alphabetical order is displayed on the website. The actual dance programme will be available on your tables on the night.
Question 10: Will the dances, both main dance and split floor dance, be announced in time for the dancers to take to the floor?
Answer: Dance programmes will be provided on every table at no extra charge. Everyone will have access to a programme. The upcoming dances will be displayed on an overhead screen so that everyone will be well aware of the next few dances coming up. As well, each dance and the associated split floor will be announced by the DJ and there will be plenty of time to move to the appropriate part of the dance floor.
Question 11: Are there raffle and lucky door prizes?
Answer: There will be raffle and lucky door prizes galore. A listing of the raffle prizes will be available on the website and at your classes soon.
Question 12: Will there be an official photographer at the venue and will we be able to purchase photos on the night? How much will the photos be?
Answer: There will be an official photographer at the venue who will make your photos available to you on the night of the Ball. The cost of photos is still being negotiated at the moment.
Question 13: Can we wear any kind of footwear to the ball?
Answer: Yes.
Question 14: How will we know if unsold tickets become available?
Answer: Robyn Groot is maintaining a Standby List with people’s contact details. The list will remain active until the morning of the Ball. Email robyn_ford2000@yahoo.com.au with your details if you would like to be added to the standby list.
Question 15: Will there be media coverage prior to the Ball?
Answer: Still under consideration and negotiation.
Question 16: Is a medical person in attendance on the night?
Answer: The venue supplies medical personnel as part of the hiring fee.
Question 17: Will there be Security Guards on duty?
Answer: Still under consideration and negotiation.
Question 18: What’s the “Best Dressed Table” about?
Answer: Groups are encouraged to participate in decorating their own tables for the night. There will be a group of independent judges on the night. There will be a group prize for the winning table.
