WELCOME TO THE HEART-TO-HEART SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A CHILD WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE
The Heart-to-Heart support group was established in 2004 by parents who had a desire to meet other families in the same set of circumstances. Heart-to-Heart is a nonprofit (501(c) 3) organization affiliated with the national organization, Mended Little Hearts. We are supported through fundraisers and donations.
Mended Little Hearts, Heart-to-Heart, is a support group for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease, dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts, Heart-to-Heart offers resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.
Partnering with Mercy Medical Center and Pediatric Cardiology, PC, we provide several programs. We connect families with other families who have survived the shock of learning that their child has a heart problem, and have already navigated the maze of medical decisions and procedures, and mapped out a plan for the future. Most recently, one of our members has put together a packet of information/support for families who have been diagnosed with a heart defect in utero.
If your child has undergone heart surgery or will be in the near future we are here to help you.
Our goal is to:
* Provide support to families
* Answer questions about upcoming surgeries
* Share pre and post-surgical experiences
* Address concerns and offer assistance
This informal group meets every 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are held at Mercy Medical Center - East Tower Conference Center - Room 3. Child care is provided!
