Pre-Algebra - meets on Thursdays
The text for pre-algebra is Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra. TT gives simple but thorough intro to topics needed for the Algebra I in Chicago math texts. Graphing in a coordinate plane will also be covered as a supplement to the text.
Prerequisite is 7th grade math.

Algebra I
This activity will require completion of a placement test (a score of 70% and above are ready for Algebra 1, 60-69% should highly consider taking pre-Algebra before taking Algebra 1, below 60% need to take pre-Algebra before taking Algebra 1 so that their basic math skills can be further refined). The Shakespeare unit consists of Hamlet, Macbeth, and As You Like It. I suggest since we will only meet once a week purchasing the No Fear Shakespeare version found at Barnes and Noble. This has a side by side translation that will help the students understand.
