Please rescue my bird

Sometimes it's necessary to give up our feathered friends.  It can be hard to find someone that knows about birds and then to take them and expect them to fulfill your wishes.  There is not just one way to do this.  There is not just a form to fill out surrendering your bird and then that's it.  If rescues can spend a lot of time researching the human that wishes to adopt rescued birds, then why can't a rescue or foster or sanctuary do the same for the reluctant bird owner that has to give up their bird?

You will be the one to decide.  If it's a situation that will not change, the bird does not like you, you do not like the bird, someone in your family doesn't like the bird or the bird doesn't like someone in your family, then the likelyhood of you ever wanting to take possession of the bird again is not great.  If you are forced to move and can't take the bird with you but don't want to give it up, then arrangements can be made for a foster type situation.

If you are a breeder and something has happened and you MUST sell or rehome your birds, but you may want them back, again we're looking at more of a foster situation than a surrender.

See, I'm sure these are not the only possible situations that can occur.  I HATE to see someone have to give up their birds because of uncontrollable situations.  I especially hate to hear others judging the person that is forced to surrender their birds.

Rescue rehab situations also come along.  We will not question why your bird may need to be rehabbed.  We won't question as to why you let the bird get the way it did and you didn't do anything about it.  We don't care about you in the equation... we care about taking possession of the bird and getting it to a vet and beginning rehab as quickly as we're able to.

So, feel free to contact us anytime for any reason.  You can email 24/7 and you should hear something back within 24 hours.  Please remember to include your contact information, or a way to get in touch with you.
